Howdy folks! It's night time!

Re: Howdy folks! It's night time!

  • Mrs Jesse - I was taking the trash out tonight, so the tins are already gone.  The insert said the baked goods can be frozen so I may stick a few in the freezer in case H wants them the next time he comes home.
  • Jill - I am so sorry.

  • Loops, it's the thought that counts. She doesn't have to know they were ruined.
  • On a lighter note, H just got home. He brought milkshakes. Smart man.
  • It is the thought that counts.  Even if the execution left something to be desired.
  • I could go for a milkshake. I bought Magic Shell for my icecream earlier, so that's going to have to work.
  • I remember going to see The Lion King when I was about 8 years old. My parents said my eyes were the size of dinner plates and my mouth was hanging open during the opening. It was so amazing, and that's an awesome gift for your nephew!

Loopy- Did you contact Cheryl & co? I would think they would send you a new one. They shouldn't be shipping with the extreme heat...

    We're Married!! And I couldn't be happier!
  • Well, now I want to see the Lion King. I've only ever seen Mamma Mia and Wicked.

This. We got chocolate covered strawberries last week, and they were left on our stoop for at least 6+ hours. They were strawberry and chocolate soup by the time we got to them. Luckily, 1800-flowers is awesome and sent us a new box.

<div>I would give my left nut to see Wicked. I memorized the entire play in HS. For fun. </div>

<div>It's fucking amazing and I listened to the soundtrack for two years after that. Still do occasionally.</div>
  • Jill, may I just say that I just read your blog post about everything, and you wrote it so beautifully. I'm sitting here in tears because my heart hurts so deeply for you and Rick, but also because I know that you're strong and that you're going to get through it however you have to.

I am proud of the words that you wrote, because I can imagine that it was incredibly difficult to write, but also because one day, I think it'll be good for you to go back and read it again.

Thank you for sharing your experience as eloquently as you did, because I am touched by your words.

<div>No, I don't really WANT a replacement.  I've had their stuff before and I find it overly sweet and not actually that good even when it hasn't been baking during transit.  I may go on their website and leave a comment that some ice packs and styrofoam may be a good idea for summer shipping though.</div>
  • In 2006, I was working at a coffee shop across the street from a dinner theater. The cast hung out at our shop all the time. One guy and I hit it off and became pretty good friends, so when the show was over and he moved back to NYC, he invited me for a visit.

I was there for a week, and I slept on the sofabed. He worked for Lion King's merchandising department, and he had friends in similar positions at a lot of different shows. I saw so many free shows that week, it was ridiculous. Wicked, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Sweeny Todd (a HS friend played Anthony and I got to meet Patti LuPone), The Color Purple (amazing!), Chicago, Altar Boyz, Mamma Mia, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, etc.

It was a fabulous, fabulous week, and I spent less than $500, including airfare, food,  and a Metro pass.

<div>Me too.  I blast the soundtrack in my car.</div>
  • Thanks J&T. Writing it was extremely therapeutic.

I have "see a play on Broadway" on my Day Zero project. I need to get on top of that.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Howdy folks! It's night time! : Exactly. FWIW, for some reason my MIL gives us Easter gifts. This year, they were shirts. H got a lovely golf shirt, and I got a long sleeved white shirt (which is a colour I almost never wear), with sequins covering a green & black zebra pattern. Why?? I don't own anything like that, at all. I can understand totally why you are struggling with the TY note.

<div>Please tell me you still have this shirt. It sounds horrendously awesome.</div>
  • I saw Mamma Mia in Vegas.  Considering I only recognized like 2 songs, it was a great show.

I am so jealous of this experience I want to throw up. That sounds amazing!

  • I absolutely must see a show on Broadway at some point in my life.

I try to go to see professional plays as much as I can, but considering the expense, I don't get to as frequently as I'd like to.

I just love live theatre, but that's not brand new information. I'm a theatre teacher with a BFA in theatre, but still. I just love it.
  • Wicked was awesome on broadway. Saw that one in the 5th row! So amazing.

  • Mrs. Jess, that sounds like a fabulous shirt. Remember these? My MIL bought me one.

She also gave me a used (as in from Goodwill) purse for Christmas one year. H got money, I got a used purse with a broken strap.
  • I told my aunt a sweatshirt she was wearing (a holiday sweatshirt with applique'd snowmen and painted snowflakes) was cute once - and it was, cute.  Just not my style.  She got me one.  Now I know not to tell that particular aunt I like something unless I would want to own it.
  • As Long As You're Mine is still one of my favourite love songs.
  • Loops did you watch BB from last night?

Hey all. I am relaxing and listening to the new Usher cd. Enjoying my alone time. I'm slightly annoyed though because I wrestled with the mop while cleaning and the mop kicked my ass. I have a cut on my finger to prove it.

  • I remember those shirts! They did not look good on anyone.

  • Um, I hate people that are immature. I just deleted this person from my FB because I cannot handle is ridiculous posts like this one:

    "That's a big...cucumber."

    Wow, someone's hilarious.
