Mica, we really wanted to live on the top floor somewhere, but we just couldn't find anything. Finding a reasonable apartment here is practically impossible, so I took what I could get. And I love my apartment, just not the loud people upstairs.
Sometimes I hated living in a third floor apartment, but this just reminded me of why it was great. We had no upstairs neighbors. Although I wonder if the people below us hated us because of our dogs. I didn't feel like we made a lot of noise, but it might have been louder below us KWIM.
I know, Anna. My last two apartments were in big complexes, so I had a floor choice. Before that, I was usually in small apartment buildings, so I had to suck it up and deal with having upstairs neighbors if I liked the location enough.
I hope from now on to be in houses only to avoid the upstairs/downstairs issue. Of course, there are still next door neighbor issues!

It definitely sounds like it's going to work out great - good for you! What are you getting your MA in?
The last apartment that H and I lived in, our downstairs neighbors were always complaining about our "stomping". Even when we tried to be really quiet. One time the girl said "You stomp a lot at 1 AM", which I found weird because H and I go to bed by midnight. Then one night, our huge 18 lb. cat leaped to the floor from the counter, and they started banging on their ceiling. Turns out it was the fatty fat cat that was doing the "stomping".
They didn't believe us until they saw our cat. Once they realized that, wow, he's practically a sumo, they left us alone.
It's H's fault. He'd never had a cat before and when he got Ollie from the shelter, he really did believe that cats needed 3 cans of wet food a day. I put a stop to that as soon as we moved in together. He's lost a LITTLE bit of weight, but not much.
Good morning! I'm running late for work AND have playwrights emailing me out the wazooooooo over a project at the theatre so, i haven't read this morning.
Oh man Bay. My cat is big and he weighs 14 pounds. I hope that doesn't cause the same issues once we move in with FI. Funny enough, he was a little runt when we found him.
Bay that reminds me of one of my sisters cats, I think he weighed about 20 lbs at one point but was the most cuddly cat so you had to prepare for impact when he came to jump on you.
Just checked my school email (that I haven't used in three years), and class IS canceled for tonight. Well, at least that means I won't be having dinner at quarter of 8 PM. And I get to see H. Sweet.
Adamar, ditto Habs and MK you need to go to a specialty store. DO NOT BE CHEAP which is saying something coming from me. If they recommend $100 sneakers, take them. It's worth not having nagging injuries plus I'm guessing you aren't running 100 mile weeks so they should last 3-6 months at least
MK good luck, everything will work out just remain positive and assertive!
Bay, Salve is a beautiful school, how was it, living there?
We still rent, but it's a section of a house and I love it. We live near an elementary school so sometimes I turn into a cranky old lazy when kids skateboard and scream down the road but other than that it's quiet and awesome!
I'm going to AW for a second. My realtor just called. The bank accepted our offer. We're heading into escrow, I think I'm going to be a homeownere soon!!

I was weird about it too but I had no choice given our timeline ( we had to take pictures before the ceremony since it was a friday evening) . I actually loved it. J still had a really cute reaction and it was more intimate than if we were at the altar since we got to talk a little bit.
I didn't do one Rach, and I'm happy about it I guess. Just for practical reasons mainly. Our wedding was at one so we still had plenty of daylight after the ceremony for pictures, plus we would have had to get there earlier. We didn't have access to the venue until two hours ahead of time and that was cutting it close. Also, my H forgot the shirt he was supposed to wear so he ended up going shopping the day of. If we had scheduled a first look we probably would have missed it anyway.
I've been in meetings for the past hour or 2? Geez, I can't even remember, so HI EVERYONE.
We did a first look and it was so much fun to be just the two of us, photographer in the background... H was able to say things that he wouldn't have in front of others. Plus, we got some really amazing photos.

Your cat is bigger than my dachshund! H weighed him the other day and I think he's 17 pounds. That reminds me, I need to remind H to build him a ramp.

Rachers I have not seen you much this week, but my posting is sporadic.

It is 9 below without windchill factored in... Tory was not a happy dog when she had to go to the bathroom in that this morning.
