confessions?

Re: confessions?

• I didn't go in.  I don't think I could live with that picture in my head for the rest of my life.  The press and stuff was crazy though and they were very rude and up in our faces the whole time.   My mom said it wasn't bad, he had no last words and his lawyer apparently said that he expresses no regrets.  My dad said that's when my mom lost it.  She said he twitched a bit and kept blinking his eyes and then sort of just fell asleep.   She told me on Wednesday it was the she had the best night of sleep ever.  She has no regrets.  But my father said he wished that he wouldn't of had to go, but he would have done anything to support my mom.
• Wow Eville. I must have missed that. I'm sorry for your loss, and that your siblings bailed. I don't know if I could have made myself go.

• But I guess I'm thinking he's just too stupid to realize the kid is too young to understand discipline than him striking the kid out of anger or something. The way I read it was the opposite: her "hubby" was tired from working at his AC job all day and all that jazz, and got frustrated, and that's why he spanked him. I also don't think anyone who was trying to discipline their child would spank them to get them to stop crying.
• "Mulva, you just contradicted yourself. I have no idea what your point is, just that you have an opinion." My point is that I think people who buy all organic are suckers. I said this like twice (at least). It's not that difficult. You disagree. We all go on to live another day.
• I read a lot of DBM blogs and stumbled across one with a confessions post.....those chicks make us look normal let me tell you.
• Stupidity/ignorance is no excuse to hit a kid.Believe me, I'm not excusing his behavior.  Just in my imagined scenario, he needs education and not anger management.

• Geez Eville, you have had a lot of tragedy to deal w/ in your life. My goodness.
• I'm not all that educated on children, but I do know that spanking an infant is effed in the a. I'm also not an expert on cars, but I know kicking it won't put gas in the tank. Some things shouldn't have to be taught, you know?
• Thanks everyone for the kind words, but really I didn't know him at all.  He lived 10 hours away and I met him just a few times.  Plus it was back in 2002, I'm just glad my mother finally got some closure.
• My point is that I think people who buy all organic are suckers. I said this like twice (at least). It's not that difficult. You disagree. We all go on to live another day.Actually I don't disagree. I said this at least...once.

• "Believe me, I'm not excusing his behavior. Just in my imagined scenario, he needs education and not anger management." maybe you're right, but I really think it's more than that. a 2 mo old is sooo tiny. they don't even really have loud cries yet. I might agree w/ you on an older baby, but not one that little.... something ain't right w/ that guy... and it's not just that he's dumb, I don't think.
• Sorry about your losses Eville, I can't imagine how you are holding it all together.
• I'm sorry Eville.  I know you had mentioned this a little while ago, but I didn't realize it was the DC Sniper.  Hitting a 2 month old is outrageous.  I happen to be against spanking in general - I think it's because my mom would spank the shiit out of me when I was little and it was never about discipline - it was about her needing an outlet for her anger and using her kids as that outlet.  But a 2 month old?  That's WAY over the line.

• i am NOT against spanking... at all. FEAR ME CHILDREN.
• im not against spanking either. im against 'time outs'. maybe its because i've never been in time out and i always got spanked, but it doesnt look like a productive consequence to me.

• Some things shouldn't have to be taught, you know? You must never have worked tech support.  Some people need to be told that their fax machine will not work when the power is out.  And that holding a piece of paper up to their monitor and clicking "scan" will not work.

• time outs are for sissies. I'm kidding.... I guess whatever works for you. I shouldn't have said that I'm for spankings, I should have said that I'm for not taking sh*t off your kids. However you accomplish that is yo' business.
• Mulva- I agree about the sauce or spaghetti. Anything from the "middle aisles" is processed anyway so I don't believe it's necessary to buy "organic" just because it is...just the "outside aisles" is important to me and that's the bulk of E's diet anyway. I make all his baby food. I don't cook for B or me, but I do "cook" for E. I wish i didn't blow my wad of confessions so early. I think I'm spent.
• Maggie has a confession. She likes wearing vests.  Can you see the picture? I've had trouble with posting photos at home lately.

• Not a confession, but I was pulling out of the mall parking lot this morning when a guy pulled up next to my car and rolled his window down. I thought he needed directions, so I rolled mine down. He asked me if I wanted to purchase a "home theatre system" that he had in his car because he does deliveries and, funniest thing, there was an extra system that nobody wanted! And was I sure I didn't want it, it was worth $4000 retail.

• Awee she's like a little model. Very cute, I also enjoy a good vest, had mind for like 4 years and haven't broken down to purchase another one.
• Spanking a two month old is something TD would do......I wonder how his kid is holding up.
• I spy some hair in that picture! She's such a cute kid.

• Maggie is adorable!

• Cali, I can't believe you make your husband get out of the bed to fart.  Farting in your own bed is in the Bill of Rights (

• Nice teefers Maggie! Don't let your arms get cold.Another confession:I am having a hard time bonding with my dog because every time we try to cuddle, she wants to chew on my hands. I know it's a puppy thing but it hurts. When she won't stop, she winds up losing lap privileges and I feel bad. I'm hoping this gets better when she finishes losing her puppy teeth. My poor hands need to heal.

• I love Maggie, her vest, her shirt, and her rosy cheeks. I love that whole picture.
• I should also add that though I'm anti-spanking now, I'm also not yet a parent.  I fully recognize that I may feel differently soon enough (not soon enough to hit my newborn, but you know what I mean).  I definitely think that discipline is important, especially after seeing some of my friends' kids who are totally out of control, but I just don't know how we'll get there yet.I agree with you Emjo.  I think the whole mortgage business is still so effed up.  We spoke to a mortgage broker a few months back who said what we'd be approved for and it was appalling - so much more than I would even remotely feel comfortable handling.  It totally stands to reason that people get in trouble with their mortgages when they are approved for way more than they can ever realistically pay.
