Random question. How many sets of sheets do you guys own? Both our bed and the guest room are queen beds, but we only have 3 sets of sheets. My mom used to have like a thousand, I swear.
Posted by Steph+J
I only have 2 sets for my bed.. one set of winter, one set of summer. Everytime I wash them, I think of how I should buy more, but then I forget about it and it doesn't happen. At this point, it's pointless, since I'll be moving out before the wedding and there's no way FI and I are going to get a full sized bed, since I manage to take up the one I have at home by myself.

that's what she said.
• I will add that for my guest rooms I bought sets that were on clearance so they are not the highest thread count etc.  If I see them on clearance at Marshalls or somewhere I pick them up.  Mostly because we always have house guests and I cant always get around to washing them before they get here, so I will just change them

I think we have two sets of sheets. We really need to get some, I want at least one complete white set since we got the duvet cover I wanted from PB. Now, I need it to match and look nice.

• This reminds me, we use a really fluffy fake down comforter in a duvet in the winter, but it's too effing hot already. What do you guys use in the summer over the top sheet? I've been sleeping with just the sheets.
• i just got home from my niece's birthday party and let me tell you, a birthday party at a waterpark type place is definitely birth control.  I had to assure my H multiple times that our currently hypothetical children will NOT behave like 1/2 those kids.  Monsters and heathens.  Also, damn.  The chlorine was so strong that just breathing in the vicinity hurt my throat.  I'm pretty sure no virus or bacteria of the non archae variety could have survived a dip in the pool.
• We have 3-4 queen sized sets- we have two queen beds. And then we have two sets for our king sized bed. My favorite sheets ever are from Sam's Club. They are amazing, and pretty reasonably priced.

I agree about not going back after having the king sized bed. I have a hard time sleeping with H in smaller beds. Mainly because I am a high-maintenance sleeper.

I just generally use the top sheet. I have a thicker blanket for winter, and I leave it on year round in case I do get cold, but I generally don't actually use it in the warmer months.

• :( Jackie. I hope you start getting better soon!

Any, I thought I had a picture, but I guess not. hmm. Our house is a split-level, so the entryway is the only sq footage on the level when you walk in (from either garage or front door.) I want to take the doors off that close to open up the entryway more.

• We have a thin quilt for the winter. We usually just leave it on for decoration in the summer, but fold it down so we don't actually use it. We just sleep with the top sheet. I hate being warm.

A master bedroom ceiling fan is on my to-do list before summer too ;)

I really wanted a King size bed when we moved, but I didn't think it would fit in the room. The master bedroom is the only room in the hosue that's not awkwardly large, go figure.

Its just a wall unit, lol.  Pick one of those fuckers up at Lowes.  Although when we reno'd the house and had all the walls open, we did put in all the ducts we would need for central air in the future.

• Steph, do you have pictures of your split level house? We're looking next Monday at a split level house that needs a lot of work. H is convinced that it can't be cute with shutters, new paint, cute door, etc. I don't know why he's so set that all split levels are ugly, but I think it could be really nice. It is really frustrating that he is being such a pill because the house is a split level.
• Erin - Wow, no AC? Do you live somewhere that it gets hot often? Our AC broke a few years ago in the middle of summer and it was hot as hell. I had fans all over my room, I had to sleep without clothes on and I was still absolutely miserable.

The split levels where Stef lives are unlike any I have seen.  Her rooms are really big and its layed out well.  I had the same feeling about splits.  I hated them till I saw hers.  But they just dont exist here.

• We have 2 sets of sheets for our bed, which is a king. But one fits better than the other and I'm not sure why. The mattress is huge though so I think we have a mutant king-size bed that normal sheets don't like. I think we have 2 sets for the guest room, which is a double. But no one ever stays over so it's not a big deal.

I also just realized that we probably have no sheets for the pull-out couch. I don't even know what size that one is. oh, well.

Anna, I can't do waterparks anymore. I'm not even a germaphobe, but thinking about all those dirty bodies in the same water just skeeves me out. Especially kids.
