    My grandmother swore by this.  And then, when she was in an assisted living home, they used to give the residents little cups of liquored drinks after dinner.  Full circle.

    I only read the first page. 

    I agree that breastmilk is the best for the baby.  Breastfeeding freaks me out, personally.  Like the thought of doing it. 

    No one can dictate what a woman does with her body.  And if that were to become a law (which i don't see that EVER happening), then I think it'd be taking a huge step back in the feminism movements.

    Jessica- Most places I've worked would not be able to accomodate pumping at work. Working retail my options would have been in the public bathroom, or in a back room filled with animals. Working at a high school I'll be confined to a faculty restroom or one of our network rooms. My archaeology lab would have been the bathroom. Not exactly a nice experience.
    Also I don't know how much time it takes to pump, but I'd imagine it's not a 5 minute thing. I know of very few employers who would allow you to take multiple, lengthy breaks for it.

    I'm amazed at all of the stuff that comes out of her mouth.

    And as a woman who breastfed both of my children for 14 months, I fully recognize that it is not possible for everyone to breastfeed, nor is it everyone's desire to breastfeed.  Their children still are being fed and still are surviving perfectly fine.

    I really don't give a good goddman how you decide to feed your kid, so long as you feed it. I hate how people get all judgy about NOT breastfeeding. Yeah, I know there are tons of studies that says it's better than formula and blah blah blah. But it's in no way a moral fucking decision, or some kind of ethical dilemma. You do it, or you don't. BFD. Just don't starve your kid and I don't care. There are MILLIONS of kids who weren't breastfed and turned out just fine. I was formula fed from day one, (Golden, my mom was the laziest wench you ever saw) and I also wasn't sick all the time as a kid. I did get an ear infection once though. When I was 17.
