Re: FFF

• OK, I haven't read through everything yet, but either I missed the thread where TJ came out as an "escort," or someone is confused (and it could be me). Every time I saw her talk about it, she said she worked "in the sex industry." To me, that does not automatically mean she was an escort. There are many jobs in the sex industry (even if she flat out said she worked for an escort service) that don't directly involve having sex with customers. So if I missed the direct confession, sorry, my bad, but I wanted to say that.
• Just trying to lighten the mood. IT took me awhile to figure out how to spell it to.

• Yeah, well my husband HELPED me put up our Christmas lights. Then he gave me a hug. I think that means he's the bestest husband ever in the world. Yep.

• Well you think I'm a douche, I think youre a douche and I think your FI is a douche. Guess its just a world of douche around here. Thats very "I'm rubber and you're glue". And you arent supposed to defend yourself in FFF, adur.

He's also fine with me quitting my job to go back to school, but he apparently won't move to MIssissauga so I can get into the program I'd REALLY like to take. Fuckhim. He's a douche.

• According to you, Jess. FWIW I agree with you, but it's not my choice to make and doesn't affect me or you one way or the other. Plus Rach is 24. A lot of people who go directly into grad school from undergrad end up questioning their choices. She has a LOT of time to make a decision about her education and future career.

I don't recall her coming out as an escort either, but she did indicate that her uh, position, in the sex industry was the reason no one was even close to touching her number of partners. So I take that to meant that whatever she was doing, she was also having sex with people. FWIW, I don't care if she was an escort and I don't know the story behind it.

Is Mississauga in Ontario? I think my parents live relative close, but on the US side.

My mom mentioned that her husband knows some people at a school in Kingston. I'm like, "Yeah, it would be cool to go to school in Canada if I didn't study United States history."

I know why I don't care for her. She said she is anti-Salvation Army and never came back to explain why when some of us inquired. So it just seems like an ignorant statement based on a lack of knowledge of this great company. I volunteered to serve the children at the Boys and Girls Club a Thanksgiving meal and the expressions on their faces were pricess. How can anyone be against that?

Yes, it's about 45 minutes from where I live now. I lived in Missisauga all through high school.

Andplus, we do actually study US History in Canada, believe it or not. You can start taking it in high school and definitely follow it through to post-secondary.

1) I'm pretty sure that's not the actual reason Salty dislikes me, just you.

2) Contrary to popular belief, I'm not here ALL the time. I didn't check back on that post until 2 days later and couldn't respond.

Salvation Army is a religious organization. I disagree with their stance on homosexuality. Therefore, I simply do not give them my money. I contribute to many other charities, including some that do similar work, but without the religious convictions I disagree with.

I AGREE. And since she claims Rach can't stick up for herself.......I will. Is there only one PhD program in the country? I'm sure she can find a program where she's moving if she so chooses in the future. Get over it!

It does actually make sense. I mean, a lot of people study European history in grad programs in the US. I just think it would be a PITA to move to another country when I'm already in the US, to study US history.

That makes sense. FWIW, I still think that a position in the sex industry could blow up your number even if you're not being paid for sex. If you're always in a sexually charged environment where promiscuity is rewarded, it's normalized for you, even if you're not actually exchanging sex for money.

And let's not forget there's another important element to this. They aren't able to be "out" with their relationship in their current community, so by moving away they'd have more freedom. Not trying to put words in Rach's mouth, but she has said it is one of her reasons for moving, so she and her FI can finally stop hiding their relationship and worrying about his job security as a result of it.

It's not like where Rach is going there are no schools.

She has plenty of time to finish up somewhere else if she chooses. All the times I have read stuff like "she's giving up her PhD" on here seems a little melodramatic.

That's lame. Do you research every single thing those companies believe, too? Not everybody is going to share every single belief with you. And since nothing they do deals directly with homosexuality, I'm not sure why this is even an issue. I have volunteered there many times and have never ever ever heard homosexuality mentioned. People are more worried about where to get their next meal than in debating politics. I'm pro gay marriage and pro Salvation Army. I have seen so many people who have been helped by the SA that I am disgusted you would say anything negative about them. You don't have to donate to them, but to say you are anti-SA is just wrong, IMO.
• This is the first time I've ever heard that about the Salvation Army!! ZOMG those bell ringing homophobes better stay the hell away from me when I go to the grocery store!!!!
