Is it too early for an evening thread?

  • Pits would DEF be my first priority too... In fact, I'm really considering doing that next time a Groupon or a Living Social deal comes up... I've almost purchased a few and then didn't, but I want the hair gone.

[QUOTE]Laser hair removal is NOT as painful as waxing. Honestly I didn't even really think it hurt. <strong>But I have a really high pain tolerance.</strong>

Of course you do, Miss Dancer.  I used to, but after high school was over I spent too much time coddling my poor broken body and now I can't hang anymore.  I swam three years with a busted up shoulder, and now I sleep on my neck funny and want to stay home from work, ha.

  • The problem with the groupons (thats what I did mine with) is that they rarely give you enough sessions for it to actually work. I mean it gets the hair more fine and maybe some hairs are totally gone...but usually the groupons are for like 4 or so sessions. You need at least 8 or more for it to be totally eliminated.

Gah, it's not even for the hair for me (I mean, it IS), but I get terrible razor burn no matter what I do with my stupid armpits and it's awful.  I really should suck it up and just get them waxed or lasered.  But I feel like waxing your pits would hurt even worse than your bikini area.

  • I have a high pain tolerance when I perceive the pain as "worth it." The nose job I want? Totally would be worth the pain. The shoulder injury I just had? Made me miserable.

  • Pits would definitely be up there for me. I have a strange patch of hair that grows on my throat that I use surgi cream on. That would be first for me.
  • I'm off to bed. Good night everyone!

  • Night Tracy!

J&K I'm allergic to Lanolin and have a hard time finding razors without lanolin in the little strips.

I used to be good with Veet, now I can't find it and Nair isn't an option. LOL

I would love to have laser removal, too, but I am a total wimp.

</div><div>haha its funny you say that. I was at the orthopedist last week to see finally what is wrong with my shoulder. After the X rays, he was like "It looks like you have a very pinched nerve in your neck, because there is not much space at all between those two vertebrae"</div><div>
</div><div>I'm like huh, well ok that makes sense. He is like "Are you in pain right now?" I basically said, "Yeah it fucking hurts like hell" (in more eloquent terms) and he was amazed at how nonchalant I was about it. I guess I just have dealt with it for so long now that I'm used to it. It will be so awesome to wake up not feeling like this eventually. </div>

Shoulder pain sucks. Mine was acting up today when I was holding the baby, so I guess it's not all the way healed. I stopped doing my PT exercises, I really should start again because they do help. I should at least do the stretches, I guess.

Also, I don't know if I've mentioned, but I want to go home ;)

  • What was it that was wrong, Angel? The orthopedist said a steroid shot will fix mine for now, if it IS a pinched nerve (Gotta get the MRI first to confirm). But he is pretty sure I'm gonna get arthritis from it eventually.
    image
  • Haha, Angel, I know that feeling.
  • I'm supposed to be doing exercises for my bursitis in my shoulder. I'm failing.

Now my ribs hurt like heck, my mother says I have bursitis in my ribs. Is that even possible?

That's exactly what happens!  I have chronic tendonitis and bursitis in my shoulder, and I've basically ground the shiiit out of all the connective tissue in there, to the point where I've got a bunch (think 50+) little bitty miniscule tears in the tendons, ligaments, and all that good stuff.  It's better now, but all through high school it was pretty much constantly inflamed, I couldn't sleep on my right side, it made grinding, popping sounds every time I moved it, etc.  I swam year round.  If I wasn't in the pool, I had ice on my shoulder.  I saw a new doctor before I started college, and he pretty much told me if I swam in college I'd need surgery before my first season was over and I'd never use that arm normally again.  He was shocked I was even thinking about it and couldn't believe I wanted to put myself through that.  To me, it was business as usual.

Three years later?  i get in the pool and swim for 45 minutes, and the rest of the day my shoulder is on fire and I want to die.  I'm quite sure it didn't hurt any more than it ever had in high school, but I had gotten un-used to it.  I haven't done any serious laps since then.

  • Musu, I think I had/have rotator cuff and bicep tendonitis. They tried a cortisone shot in my left shoulder and it didn't help at all. PT helped a lot though. It's probably 90% better, but I still have to be careful with weights and stuff and I actually probably will never do certain exercises again because it's not worth it. My right one actually seems to be totally better, it's just the left one that still acts up sometimes.

  • Oh Eags.  I'm sorry dearest.  I hope the rice sock helps.

Steffi, bursitis is an inflamation of the sac between a joint and its tendon.  Since your ribs are far from joints, I'm going with an educated guess of "no, that's not possible."

  • Geez J, that sounds nuts. Even through my years and years of dancing, I never had any chronic issues, only acute injuries. Aside from a cranky hamstring but thats about it.

Angel, that sounds really painful. :( I guess since mine is likely due to the too small space between vertebrae, there isn't a way to get rid of that completely. But the pain should go a way with a shot, so the guy says.

  • Hello Eagles. I wouldn't want to read 10 pages of a night thread from the beginning either.

  • Omg I had costochondritis once. That was so fucking weird.

I think she was just annoying me. Either I had a rough night in bed last night alone or I was sleep walking and banged into something and bruised/cracked a rib. I've broken ribs enough times, it feels like I cracked a rib. Dear god I'm getting old when I crack a rib in bed... and my right side hasn't been broken before. I usually crack the left ones.

Or, I have Pneumonia again, but I feel fine other than the annoying pain in my ribs. If it's not better then I'll probably go see the doctor on Thursday. My boss will force me. LOL

That's pretty awesome that you never had any chronic issues.  I was the opposite, and never had any acute injuries but had all sorts of more chronic (but always fairly low level) issues that made things a bit more difficult.  But I'd rather have the chronic stuff because at least I was always prepared for them and knew how to deal with them.  Very few things make me panic, but I'm pretty sure if I ever broke something or seriously injured myself in another way, I would probably panic.  For about a week.

I now feel bad for putting my horse through them last Spring.  The vet said they'd help his knees, but I didn't notice much difference.

And hi, I'm back. Just made a carmel frapaccino that I found on Pinterest.  It was delicious.

I feel like broken ribs would be awful.  I've never broken or bruised my ribs, but my H did once, and he said it sucked.  I mean, you can't even breathe without pain, I would imagine.

It's not that, I've had that before and I'm not in that much pain. I've had cardiochondritis as well.

I think I cracked/bruised/sprained my lowest rib on the right somehow. I'd bed I did some sleep walking last night.

Eags - Steriods do funk with hormones and blood sugar. They make me mean as a snake and sick as a dog, I can't keep anything down for a few days after a shot. And, when I'm on pred I can't eat. Annoying!
