Evening! I am clearly born and raised in WA. It got up to maybe 80 today and we're dying of heat stroke. We had to go buy some box fans. I love the weather, but hot dog, I'm panting. It should still be snowing here, so I have no idea what this summer will be like. I am imagining hell.
Eeep, everyone is so close! I can't wait to see everyone AW their pictures.

True, but that's probably easier said than done. Sometimes it's impossible not to let people make you crazy... for me, at least.
I play a drinking game at dinners with FI's family to keep me sane. Drink every time middle sister is an entitled brat. Drink every time youngest sister's voice hits an octave only dogs can hear. Drink every time father sides with middle sister in an arguement.
I was luckily wrong about my mom not cooking... I just finished eating chicken, a baked potatoe and broccolli. The chicken was kind of weird tasting, but whatever, at least now I'm full and I don't need to make or buy anything myself. I'm feeling way too lazy to go anywhere right now.
BIL and his wife have been trying to have a baby, unsuccessfully. The whole family has talked behind their backs about what awful parents they would make. I can pretty much guarantee CPS would have a file on them by the time the kid turned five.
His wife had surgery on Thursday to remove a bunch of fibroids. The surgery was stopped after the surgeon saw what looked like uterine cancer. She's undergoing more tests. I genuinely hope she's healthy, but it's nearly certain she'll never have kids.
Within half an hour, MIL had broadcast this information to her other four children, her three sisters, her church, and the entire hospital cafeteria. SIL (a redhead--this is important) immediately offered to be a surrogate. This is the wacko SIL, the one with the pretend BF.
In Ohio, the surrogate woman is the legal guardian. I believe the genetic parents have to adopt. BIL and his wife would NEVER (I hope) be approved for an adoption. Plus, SIL is not emotionally stable enough to carry a child for nine months, then give it up. (Neither am I.)
H and his cousin are making all sorts of jokes along the lines of, "Does BIL know he has to go to a doctor's office?" Years ago, they were repairing BIL's computer and found tons of porn from a site called "Redheaded Sisters."

Wow, Special. It's like an episode of Maury up in there, isn't it? You ought to ask SIL how her imaginary boyfriend would feel if she couldn't be intimate with him for months because of giving birth.
Chels, it's more fun than getting involved myself, anyway. I frequently end up tanked.
After meeting FSIL, FMIL and FBIL, my MOH and another BM both told me they're convinced FI is adopted lol. FFIL is the only normal one biologically connected to the immediate family.
FIL died ten or eleven years ago. H is the product of an affair. He was raised by his mother and had no relationship with his father. FIL was apparently a fabulous father to his other eight kids, though H has never met them. He recently connected with his sister on FB, and the two are friendly.

So, question. I am apparently wearing my judgy pants tonight, but i looked at one of FI's co-worker's registries tonight. Everything but one item on it is expensive. 38$ ladle, 115$ picture frame, etc.
Anyone else think it's kind of crappy when people don't register for at least a handful of under 10$ things as well, or am i just a giant judgemental biitch?
Evening, I'm happy to say my FILs are relatively normal. FMIL takes forever to get to the point when talking but considering that's her worst trait, I'm pretty pleased with it. I am terrified of how FFIL and other FMIL will treat our kids. Their current grandchildren are allowed to do whatever they want at their house. I have cringed watching the 2 year old (adorable) little girl walking on the back of the couch.
Aleighs glasses she made are adorable! I can't wait to try making some.

Not a judgemental bitch. It's shitty when people do that. about 50% of our registry items were under $20.. only about 10 or 15 total were over $100.

<div>I'm going to need a link to the picture frame that's $115. What possibly makes a picture frame so expensive? And I agree with you about the price range needing to be a little bit larger.</div>

I didn't know I should have things under $10 on my registry, TBH. I was planning to have things for around $20, but didn't know I should go lower than that. I guess I will have some things for under $10 when I do register!

<div>I felt super judgemental when I saw someone's baby registry recently - she registered at four different places and each registry had over 100 things on it. She registered for everything from q-tips to 3 different strollers. Aren't they going to buy <em>anything</em> themselves?</div>

...Q-tips? ....Really? I get registering for most of your big things, you never know who will want to get what.. but toiletries? That's just cheap to me.

you have to scroll a bit- the site doesn't have individual pages for each frame.
Angel, i know some people who would rather spend their money on like four little things than one big one for some reason. And I have friends who have NO spare money, but no matter how many times I tell them I don't need a present, they want to get something. I would hate for them to go to my registry and see nothing inexpensive. So we registered for like, a new pizza cutter, some tupperwear, things like that.
