I would hate for them to go to my registry and see nothing inexpensive. So we registered for like, a new pizza cutter, some tupperwear, things like that. Oh, it's Lenox. Still, I don't think I'd feel comfortable with a frame that expensive. But then again, I'm pretty clumsy so it'd only be a matter of time before I broke it.
I think I would judge a baby shower registry with that much stuff too. Especially if qtips were on it.
Is it a bone china picture frame (sorry, the link is stuck for me)? Bone china is pretty darned expensive. I don't even think that frame is very pretty.
hey guys. I'm writing a bullshit paper because my professor won't accept my doctor note for being sick last week.
I'm reading shoegate from friday and I find it hilarious. That being said, it is totally a regional thing. While reading, I realized that it is completely ingrained into my head that taking shoes off in an entryway of anyone's home is polite unless they say otherwise. I really don't think I've experienced it any other way. Midwestern politeness I guess.
Personally, I'd rather get several non-lenox picture frames for that kind of money. There are some things worth the splurge, but picture frames aren't one of them, IMO.
Thanks MUSU! I learned a valuable lesson about said adorable dress this weekend, however. Do not try on your wedding dress on the first day of your period with no one around to zip you in. It will end in fail.

The shoe thing is definately regional. I was at a shower this weekend (in my socks) and told some of the other people (also in their socks) about that thread - they couldn't believe that people would refuse.
Aw. Well I'm sorry it was a fail, but you're gonna look hot. Speaking of periods, AF is due here aaaaaany minute. I always freak out if I'm like 13 hours late or more which is totally irrational. But I'm so regular because of BC. Then I worry that if I get KU, my kid is gonna have 3 hands since BC can fuuck up the baby.
Most of the picture frames I received were off-registry. And I haven't used them all because there are only so many places I can put frames on. We have pictures on every open bit of counter or table space.

I usually don't care if people keep their shoes on (on a dry NON winter day, lol) but people always try to take them off anyway. I think my MIL would actually get pissed if I didn't take my shoes off in her house. She's crazy about cleanliness though.
And thanks Musu. I had to remind myself that I had not gained wait, i would not look fat, i was just bloated, it's just hormones. but i had a bit of a freakout.

I love it! Are those the shoes you're wearing with it?
I've never been asked to take off my shoes except when I visit Asian people. And that's only the super traditional Asian people. My family does not follow that practice.
Chrissy, have you graduated to emailing or gchatting with cute engineer? Maybe that's the first step. Then it'll be WAAAY easier to say if you don't have to LOOK at hiim while saying it.

I guess no one here ASKS for people to take shoes off. Its just one of those things that people do anyway, KWIM?
Chrissy, wait until a day when there's doughnuts or cake or something in the kitchen/break room. "There's cake in the breakroom! Did you get any?" is a good opener.

That sucks... I can't stand being away from my bed. I actually just have problems sleeping anywhere that isn't home. I still live with my parents and I worry about how it's going to feel when I move out. I guess that will be different since I'll be living in my new home with FI. I was okay in college, and I used to sleep at my ex's all the time, but I've gotten weird about sleeping out in the last year.

I think that's an excellent idea :)
That won't work with my dress, unfortunately. I'd probably vacuum up the train and such.
Re: Good evening!
And that makes sense... I will definitely add some small items to the registry when the time comes.
