The press also gets it wrong. First it was 50 injured, now it's 38. First it was a 6 year old, then it was a 9 year old (or maybe it's both)? I wouldn't be completely surprised if it turned out the 3 month old wasn't even in the theatre or something crazy like that. It's a developing story.

Sure, the age thing is a big deal and is a valid debate in its own right, tragedy aside. But I don't agree with your argument about the press being a reliable source of what a "big deal" should be.

I kind of flame this.  It's a FFF, we rehash topics of threads from other boards all the time.  That is kind of the point.  Daff didn't come in here whining about people being mean to her, she flamed others in the thread for how they acted.  Pretty much what everyone else is doing in their flames.

The press reported on it because they knew people would be all ZOMG A BABY!  I'm not saying this to minimize the tragedy by any means, but it was all the Today show would talk about.  The media loves tragedy because it means ratings.

I have NEVER seriously gotten in to it with anyone on TK and I've seen some pretty idiotic things. I just found her statements to be so off the reservation the other day.

And personally... I don't normally bother with FFF for this reason- it's just a place to rehash and revive drama. Which can be fun. But at the end of the day- it's drama.

One other one - the thread where the lawyer studying for the bar asked a question and prefaced it with "I know I should know this, but my brain is on overload from studying for the bar, can anyone help?" I thought it was snotty that the first reply was "Well, you're a lawyer, shouldn't you know as well as any of the rest of the lawyers" by Chels.  She had just admitted she knew she should know but was overthinking it.

I would have just respected her more if she bitched about it the place it started. I understand there is a ton of SB/E crossover. I, however, do not post on E. If I am going to be called a thunderdouche I generally like to be able to respond to it. Someone sent me here otherwise I wouldn't have heard about it.

Well that's hardly the reason the numbers aren't right. Yes, of course, they want to get the story out there, but these situations are mass chaos. There are injured people at multiple hospitals throughout the area and they're relying primarily at first on eyewitness reports.
