AAAhhhhhh!!!!! Congratulations @flantastic !!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited to hear all about babies from you ladies this year! (And since I'd like to join your ranks after the wedding, later this year, I apparently need to start drinking the magical TK water that's going around!! )
I would like to give some of that water to wifey if anyone has a bottle or two.
Would also like some water, please.
I will also drink the water.
This weekend is the first time I will be able to take one of those early pregnancy tests and I can't decide if I want to POAS or just wait until my period is late.
@sarahufl I've been trying to pre-emptively decide that for myself. Last month AF came super early so I didn't have the chance to wonder about it. I think I'm going to try to wait until FF says I'm late.
Although selfishly I want you to pee on all the things so that I know ASAP.

@lolo883- this was our first month TTC and we.....were busy.....at the suggested times. Women in my family tend to get pregnant in a split second, so I am hoping I follow suit. Plus, my twin sister is newly pregnant and I would just be so thrilled to have kids at the same time.
I may start peeing on things this weekend, just because I am SO CURIOUS.

Anyone who pees on all the things is getting put in their kennel until house trained.

Yeah we were not trying but not not trying last month, but this is the first real go-time month. Sooooo... we shall see!
Good luck! I always hoped my sister and I would have bebes at the same time, but she's done already with her two (who are 3.5 and 2 now) and younger sis is nowhere near that point.

My recipe for water: used the babycenter.com fertility calculator to see which days I was going to be super fertile. Then had sex at least once on each of those days. And here's the part that may or may not be an old wives tale (and is also graphic), but one of my friends told me.... I put some pillows under my butt and sat there for 20-30 minutes before... ahem.... draining.

southernbelle0915- I am not simply relying on baby water (which, wtf?). I realize there is a more scientific way to do it.

Of course! Y'all probably know more than me. See, the above would have been good information for me because I used to think you could get pregnant at any time. Like ANY time. And by "used to think", I mean I thought this until very recently when we decided to start trying to conceive and I googled it..... I blame sex ed for basically instilling this without opportunity for questions:

Oh yeah, when you start learning how it works, you start questioning how so many people get so pregnant so often. There really is a very small window when it can work.

I giggled at this. As if you can be a little bit pregnant as opposed to "so pregnant." (I know that's not what you meant)

I blame lack of sex education on why Maury has so many "You are not the father" shows. Once you test five guys, you need education on when one can get pregnant, not randomly testing another 10 guys.
Question for the moms and pregnant ladies: How early did you start experiencing nausea?
I never got full on morning sickness so I super lucked out. I would get "wonky" (as I called it; slightly nauseous) from about 6 - 8 weeks if I got too hunger, so I just made sure I was constantly snacking and it never became an issue. I also lived on sour patch kids during that time because I heard sour things helped.
I don't want the water, I don't want the water, I don't want the water!
I need to keep telling myself that. I have a little bit of baby fever and it's getting worse. But H just signed up for classes to pursue his bachelors, and we don't want to have kids until he's done.
I had a dream a couple days ago (really weird dream actually) and when I told H about it, I got all emotional and started crying "cause it was my baby, it was my baby."
@lovesclimbing you are being smart! My brother & SIL got pregnant (on purpose) halfway through her Master's program. She was working full time and taking classes at night so I was like why the fuck would you do that?! Why not wait another year? Because it definitely pushed back her graduation.
Well fuck.
Had to run by doctor anyway. She said she'd run blood test just to calm my nerves.
Yeah. Didn't work.
hCG at 113,600. Translation, around 9 weeks.
Why did I have my period in December then?!?!?!
Really? I find it really hard to believe that a doctor would run a blood test "just to calm someone's nerves". Why not do a much quicker, easier, and less expensive urine test?
I mean, I'm no doctor, but I've been pregnant 3 times, so I kind of know the drill.
ETA And how did you get the results back so quickly? It's not instantaneous.

Oh I know we're being smart. We would have to take out a ton more loans if I got pregnant, because I wouldn't be able to work. Or if I did have to work (I'm hoping to be a SAHM for awhile when the kids are young), day care would take a chunk. Or H would just not go back to school, and I wouldn't want that.
Getting pregnant while I was going to school was never an option for me. It just wouldn't happen. I had to finish my degree. It was not an option for me to give up. Fortunately, I didn't get pregnant because I would have been one of those ladies showing up to class nine months preggers, skipping a couple days, and coming back to class without a bump!
@southernbelle426 I thought the same thing. If a man ejaculates inside a lady's vagina at any point an unplanned pregnancy is inevitable. Which....kinda smart to teach teenagers.. in theory at least.
Also we do the pillows under the butt and (total tmi stop now) we've got a diaphragm now that we'll put in after to keep stuff....in better.

Does that actually work?
~~Boxes aren't a thing on mobile apparently~~
Honestly not sure but wifey read it as a tip for the way we're trying and she figured it was worth a shot. Our insurance paid for it...might as well try.

-----TMI stuff----- A woman's cervix produces mucus that helps the sperm swim and survive. There is a lube available (we got some through my obgyn, but it's over the counter) that is similar to the mucus to help the sperm survive / swim.
