  • Hi Rosie.  Did you hear I'm gonna be in Baltimore?
  • I like dutch apple - with the crumble on top.

[QUOTE] Oh, Tracy!  I don't know if you've ever been to NOLA, but please go to Cafe Du Monde and have some begniets and cafe au lait...you won't be sorry!  Oh, and try to get to Central Grocery and have a muffelata (it's in the French Quarter)...I'm a native, so I love being able to show off my city. Oh, and if you are a beer drinker, try the Abita beer..Purple Haze is good and so is Turbo Dog. If you like darker beers, the Amber is awesome. Abita is a local brew...

Lizzy, we're in Baton Rouge for a couple years while H pursues his Masters. We love NOLA and try to get out there at least every few weeks. Cafe du Monde is always a must! I'm not sure if we've been to Central Grocery. H is the food and drink guy, I just go along for the ride.  We love checking out new places so please send any other recommendations. Feel free to PM me.

I'm not a beer drinker but H sure is. Have you ever been to the Abita Brewery? We saw a sign on the way to Orlando the other weekend and are wondering if it's worth a trip.

Every time you post I think of the awesome movie Eagle Vs. Shark, and I want to watch it.  SO THANKS FOR THAT.

<div>Week after next.  I should have some free time Wednesday evening after my meetings.  Maybe Tuesday evening too, but that will likely be later evening.  The guys from San Diego that I'm meeting there to visit this supplier haven't picked a hotel yet so I'm not sure where we're all staying.</div>

  • I want apple crumble with caramel now.

Over half the nurses in my office are MAs, not even licensed.  The LPNs do mostly managerial stuff because they are so rare and prized.  Sigh.

Okay, must take H out for date night.  See you all later!
  • MK Thanks for the tips again! I found some good ones on Pinterest so we shall see how they go! H won't know what hit when he comes home!

That's my H exactly, too.  He always asks me for Marie Callendar's german chocolate pie for his birthdays. His family never does birthday cakes either. It always feels so weird at their dinners and parties.

Me? I could eat cake all day long.

Speaking of pie...I like a nice, tangy Key Lime pie.

For Thanksgiving and Christmas, FI makes this apple pie that's about 600 calories a friggin SLICE...it's awesome.
  • I'm gonna take off.  I didn't get much sleep last night and I've got about an hour of free time left before we have company for the next 5 days.  I'll see you all when I see you :)  Don't kill TK while I'm busy.
  • Good evening everyone! I'm about to leave work and go home to my sick hubby.  Normally he's really grouchy when he's sick which makes it annoying, but he's actually so sick this time that he's not even complaining, so I feel really bad for him.    I'll probably end up working on my never ending pile of thank you notes for wedding presents while having the same dinner as wrigleyville, since I don't feel like cooking for one.
