Everytime there's a new "omghungergamesisthebestthingever" thread, I get just a teensy bit irritated. It's irrational, because I did enjoy reading the series. I just don't think it's worth all of the hype. The books are enjoyable, but their massively flawed. It makes me sad that they get love around here from people who either don't like or have never read HP. I don't get it.

I flame myself because I apparently suck at message board cliques because I couldn't even begin to tell you who was in a clique with who.

I also sort of flame FFF threads, especially how it went down last week. I just think if you think someone is making a mistake, or being an asshat in a thread, you should just say it in that thread where it's relevant and not bring up a whole new thread just for the purpose of re-hashing how someone screwed up. This weeks is much better so far though, I'm cool with hammering out board issues or other random stuff.

Go from being the daughter of millionaires to the daughter of people who declared bankruptcy because of the economy, and tell me how it feels when your credit is ruined by your own mother because of the bankruptcy and you can't get sh*t for loans. Be happy with what you have, for serious. You can always find a way around, but if you continue to complain, then I have one statement for you: 'life's a bitch and then you die.' Deal with it. Focus on the fact that you're marrying the one you love and realize that the wedding is one day of the rest of your lives.
I really don't get this... CCO got flamed all over the place last week for her supposed pre-planning. I think the difference is that with new posters (U/O I hate the term 'newbs'), we don't know them, and they bust in here all 'we're unofficially engaged and I want to buy this amazing dress.' With regular posters (U/O Also hate the term 'regs') we know a bit more about them, and know that a couple posts in a thread telling them to chill out or distracting them with pretty shoes is enough to get them back on track. It isn't a double-standard, it's two completely different situations.
    Posted by cu97tiger
I disagree. I think the difference you're implying is that some of the regular posters don't argue their point. They let it go a little easier. Or play up on the whole I'm just venting to my friends BS.

To be honest, there are several posters here that were around for a while that still posted threads about anticipating engagements and everyone is super sweet and all that. But the second a new poster comes in and posts about it they get torn a new one and told to read the sticky at the top of the page.

I admit I have never been all "save the new girl", to me it just further emphasizes the cliqueyness of the board.

I also flame myself for this post because this was soooo last week's FFF, but I didn't participate then, so yeah.

I definitely don't believe my relationship was ruined just because of a game. It exacerbated things to a shocking level that I would not have expected a video game to be capable of. But that relationship was doomed from the beginning and I am beyond grateful that it ended. My only regret was that it didn't end sooner.
