Yeah I've seen some bad ones, but mostly good ones. I vastly prefer the places where a real human sprays you as opposed to the booths with the spray nozzles.

Ditto Anna/Rupert.  I definitely fake-baked for my wedding (zomg judge away) but people really let it get out of hand.  I wanted a little color so I didn't look like a beaming ghost in my wedding dress, but I didn't want to look like Snooki Bride or anything either.

I also don't get the couples who act like everyone should be so grateful they were invited. Most of those types of weddings suck.

[QUOTE]Expensive designer dresses are NMS, I don't get spending that much on a one-time outfit.  And most of the time I don't even really like them, apparently I didn't get that girly gene....

If you can afford a beautiful, gazillion dollar Monique Lhullier wedding gown (or the person giving it to you as a gift can) I think it's a great opportunity to blow a bunch of money on a gorgeous dress.  When else can you do that in your life?

It gets annoying to me when someone spends 60% of their budget on the dress, or worse, goes way overbudget just so they can say they had a designer gown.

One of my friends found a pair of wedding shoes that were perfect, but they were from Jessica Simpson's label, or something like that.  She spent another month trying to find a pair just like them, but with a more prestigious label.  All so she wouldn't be embarrassed by the inevitable picture of her shoes stacked artfully with the wedding rings or whatever.

Yeah, let's just be honest. I would have gone to a tanning bed, not had a spray tan.

Little off topic of weddins, but I think this we got the idea of this thread because of the girl that was having camo in her wedding, right?  Well over the weekend someone on FB posted this picture of a girl at prom in a camo dress and her bf in a tux with a camo vest.  And she has utility boots on.

I might DD this picture because I just stole it off of FB from someone I don't really know.

I don't really get AHR after a DW. If you want to celebrate with everyone at home, why not just get married at home?  The only time I think they are appropriate is if the bride and groom are from different countries/very far apart and it would be a hardship for either side of the family to travel.  But if you chose to have a DW just because you decided to get married on a beach in the bahamas, then I think an AHR is gift grabby and unnecessary.

Yuck, amys.  Camo anywhere other than hunting gear is friggen sick, I don't care who you are or how "cute" you think it is.

And I am much more lenient about prom attire, because hey, it's kids and it's fun.  But camo?  Fucking life, man.  No.  Just no.

There are whole websites full of camo dresses and accessories.  I particularly like the ones with the blaze orange accents...because the camo wasn't enough by itself...

One is no better than the other IMO, lol.

A girl went into the boutique where I got my wedding dress because she wanted a custom made prom dress - a camo ombre dress, that started out blaze orange at the top and faded down into brown, green and tan camo at the bottom.  Barf.

I am generally not a fan of DWs where EVERYONE has to travel. My brother was recently in a wedding in Puerto Rico where the B&G invited 300 people, then insisted on multiple pre-wedding parties. They picked a horrible resort that was really inconvenient for all the guests to get to. When some of the guests declined, the B&G acted like someone just kicked a puppy. "What do you mean, you can't come? We aren't important enough? The room is only $450 per night, and the festivities only last four nights."

That camo prom dress is actually not horrid, IMO. Mostly b/c I like the dress style and it's not blinged out and aqua like most prom dresses (side note: what is it with prom dresses these days? Neon and bling were definitely not a combo when I was in school).

But the guy's prom tux? That's the worst.

Animal heads mounted around the reception room is NMS.  My sister had that at her wedding (no camo, though) and honestly it was just part of the normal lodge decor, but I would have tried to find a way to remove it for the wedding.

As other people have said shiny satin or taffeta is NMS.  I don't like shiny dresses.

On a totally different note, this is probably the weirdest wedding picture I've ever seen (and this is probably my least favorite dress of all time):
