Thursday Evening

Re: Thursday Evening

  • Completely off topic, my neighbors have their tv turned up way too loud but I'm way too comfy sitting on my couch in my pjs to walk outside all the way (8 feet maybe) to their door to ask them to turn it down.
Crash away J&K. I'm bored too. I need a new book to read. I have a silly confession. I've been reading a blog since 2007-ish and the woman who writes it posted about her daughter asking, "Why doesn't Daddy live at home anymore?" I'm a little sad. Stupid, I know.

What blog?  That would make me a little sad too :(

What kind of books do you like?  What have you read lately?  I love recommending books.

  • Omg Erin, I babysat for a lady because she had just gotten a divorce and one time after picking up the daughter from school we passed a coffee shop. She casually mentioned how her mom liked coffee. Then it occured to her that her dad liked coffee too. She then asked me why they got a divorce if they both liked coffee. I was heartbroken.

</div><div>Books: Well my favorite book of all time is Forever by Pete Hammill. I have read all of Sue Grafton's novels, started with A in 2006. I read the Hunger Games and loved that. I like dystopian novels. Nelson Demille is in my top three favorite authors. I've read all of Mary Jane Clark and Jodi Picoult. My interests are incredibly varied. I enjoy police type novels a lot as well as novels that highlight a social issue (which is why I like Picoult). I try to like non-fiction, but I don't read it very often. I'm more of a fiction girl. Phew, that was long!

Have you read Divergent?  Delirium?  The Uglies?  The Maze Runner?  When She Woke?  The Declaration?

Have you read any Jonathan or Faye Kellerman novels?  Awesome police/murder mystery writers.  How about Jeffrey Deaver?

<div>The Uglies, yes. Possible Divergent, I'll have to remember. I will look for those now! Thanks! I just love books. My Kindle is my favorite companion.</div>
  • I just finished the Maze Runner series not that long ago. It's really good. A prequel to the series is being released in August.

    And hi!

Oh, Patricia Cornwell at all?  I love her books.  Great mysteries.

I have a dystopian called "Under the Never Sky" on my Kindle right now that's waiting for me to finish Red Mist and AWOL on the Appalacian Trail.  It's supposed to be really good.

Interesting.  I don't know how I feel about that.  I'll read it, though.

Oh, how about the City of Ember series?

  • Yeah, I also found out their turning the first one into a movie. It makes me nervous. I'll still read the prequel and see the movie if it gets made.

HA!  H got it for me thinking he'd be saving me some money.  Little did he know how dangerous it would be for me to be able to order with one click and just have it charged to the card on my account.

Oh, I heard that too.  I'll see the movie, I think.

Oh, if anyone likes fantasy-ish books at all, The Night Circus is a PHENOMENAL read.  It's not super fantasy-y, but it's amazingly well written and it sucks you into the story.
So I am on Lululemon fake shopping.  I have added everything to my cart that I want (okay, probably not everything, but some stuff).  It would be $340 to buy it all :(

So...one pair of crops, one pair of shorts, and maybe two tops?

Lulu makes me cry.  I WANT IT ALL SO BADLY.

My H calls my Kindle the gift that keeps on taking.
  • Have you looked on Ebay, Chrissy?  They have some good lulu deals sometimes.

  • whoaa people are still up around here? I'm impressed. The night thread usually dies out by this time.

J I didn't see the rap thread (i think i was in Hawaii) but I have no doubt you are an excellent rapper.

  • There is a store here called Bruised Books where you can get paperbacks for pocket change. You can also sell them your gently used books for a pretty good price. I love it, but I do enjoy the one-click that my Kindle has.
  • Sort by lowest price, Chrissy.

  • True, I disregard time zones sometimes, Erin. :P It was really weird on the HM because i'd be texting my mom and be like "whoa I'm 4 hrs behind right now" and it was just odd.

I just went through and organized all the GCs we got from the wedding so that perhaps I can actually utilize them soon. Having more than one GC is kind of annoying because they are weird to put into a wallet at that many.
I have a question for you J.  Do you have Lululemon stuff?  Did you buy it online?  Do you get the bag when you buy online? I have ever bought only in a store.  But they took away our showroom store so now the closest store is across the scary (in winter) mountain pass at least 3hours 15 minutes away.  I feel the prices can be worth it considering how long things last and the fact that you get a reusable bag.  But if they don't give the bag online, I just don't know how a lot of the prices are worth it.
    Posted by crfb87
I have one lulu tank, and I actually won it from a blogger.  I got the bag too, but I don't know if she bought online or in the store, but I'm pretty sure it was in the store.
