Can't say I'm upset about that.

I don't think everything revolves around New York, I think New York revolves around New York, and all these people playing the city like it's a political soccer field and using 9/11 as an excuse to hate Muslims are pissing me off.

No, you have to preface every racist thing you say with "I have black friends, but..."

Because everybody knows you aren't racist if you have black friends.  TRU FAX.

Isn't that generalizing a whole group of people, just by the acts of some? Not getting how it's okay to generalize NYers, but not Muslim.

For the record, I am from NJ and my town had the highest amount of people lost in 9/11 outside of NYC. It was a tragedy that I watched unfold in front of me, I had a friend's mom crumble into my arms as she was at church praying for her husband's return that never happened. It was and remains a terrible act, but we cannot take what certain people did and try to ban everyone else who shares the same religion. True New Yorkers would say "build it, see what we care"- the bigger argument for NYers is Mets/Yankees or Jets/Giants, let's get back to that please...

I get that you're in agreement with a majority of people, but damn.  Talk about way with words.
  • And, if you think that what happened on september 11th only affected people in NYC, you're extremely short-sighted.

There were people from all countries in those towers when it happened.  NYC is a large city populated by people from all over the US and the world and those people have families who still live outside of your precious NYC.

If you don't think that the rest of the world was HORRIFIED on that day, then you aren't paying attention.  I don't even live in the US and I know how it affected the people in my city and my province.  We sat at our desks that morning numbly watching the planes hit those buildings again and again and again while scouring the internet for any last bit of information we could get on what happened and why.  We watched people leaping from buildings because they had no other option.

If you think me not living in NYC means that I didn't care about those people or what happened, you just don't get it.  And how insulting can you be?

You should have said that then instead of just bouncing in on an international forum and telling everyone who's not from NYC to "GTFO", in your oh so elloquent words. That's offensive, especially to those of us that aren't from NYC who hold the same viewpoint that they should just build the mosque and this should be a non(political)-issue. It's all in the way you say things that make people respond the way they do.

I understand the point you're trying to make, but it's very superficial to me.  Saying that all NYC-ers are self centered (or whatever it was I said) is NOT the same as denying people basic civil rights based upon their religion.  It's not like I'm wandering around saying that all New Yorkers should be shut up on their little corner of the US and never allowed to mingle with anyone else.
  • How much are you an hour? I'd like to try to prove to this one group of people that I'm culturally sensitve.

  • Yes, I do Bar Mitzvahs.  Howeverfor the orthodox Jewish ones, I have a special provision in my contract that allows for my eating of pork because everybody knows black folks love pig's feet.

Fischy - you get a special 50% off discount.  You only have to pay me 20 acres and a donkey.
