• The merchant cannot charge you for using your card...it's against MasterCard/Visa and Amer rules. They can be fined and lose their ability to take cards.Wink

  • Forget about the money. It's just a number. Afreaking huge number, but still something that can be managed by going through the proper channels. The greater concern is what this has done to your relationship. The thought of your significant other should never trigger your gag reflex, and it's certainly no way to begin a marriage. If this is the only red flag you've seen in your relationship, be frank with your fiance that however innocent his trip to the VIP room may have been, it's hit you like a ton of bricks. Consider counseling. If other red flags are waving you in the face, still consider counseling as it may be helpful in determining your course of action. It's a lot easier to cancel a wedding than it is to get divorced. Take it from someone who ignored her red flags.

Her FI used a credit card that was in his name (As well as hers) and he has admitted to signing the receipts. How on earth would calling the police and crying "fraud" do any good at this point?

It's pretty well established at this point that OP's FI is either a complete idiot or full of sh!t, but a victim of credit card fraud he is not. I didn't go to law school, but falsely filing a police report claiming to be a victim of credit card fraud sounds pretty illegal to me.

Yup, making a false report of a crime is a crime. It's usually a misdemeanor.
