Re: Stealing from SB- Ask a Knottie Anything

• I love Evelyn. It was my great grandmother's name. Plus, I think Evie is a cute nickname.

• Manda, I think Evelyn is a beautiful name! i'd call her Evie for short. Cute!

• kikibot- I KNEW IT!

Mrs. B- I hate it. A lot. Yestereday was the worst day of morning sickness so far and between yesterday and today I lost 3 pounds. I know this is bloat. That is ridiculous. If we're going to have a second (which I do want) we're either adopting or Mr. P can be pregnant.
• Anna - no way is my Kindle going anywhere near water. That's my only problem with it.

MandaPandaFace - I like Evelyn. And I adore the nickname Evie :)

• Kiki, that's good to hear. I think the reason I held out so long on getting a kindle is because my favorite place to read is in the bath.
• Baystate- Omg, my super-nerdy-musical-fanatic-self is about to emerge... I could honestly say I would die of happiness being in any Broadway show (Everytime I do one, I get so depressed when it's over. It's awful). But a favourite?! Hm.... Either Galinda in Wicked, or Olive from Spelling Bee. Or Wendla from Spring Awakening. Or Belle in beauty and the Beast. Or the narrator from Joseph.

... I'll stop now.

Cfas- Do they have running rooms in the states? Because apparently, the type of shoe you choose is very dependant on how you walk/ on your foot. And at the running room, they fit you for shoes based on that. I wear Saconys and love them.... Why is my font different now?
• I like Evelyn. It sounds much better then some of the names I have heard in the past 10 years of teaching and working with kids.

KIKI...do you know what you are having? If not, do you have a preference?
question for everyone- what do you think of the name evelyn? I am not allowed to actually use this name, because Mr. P won't let me cause he's a jerk, but I'm still trying to defend my position on this.

I love that name. A friend of mine named her daughter that and they call her Evie. Booooo Mr. Panda. Boo on you.
• I LOVE the name Evelyn. Mr B's gma is Evelyn and I asked him if we had another girl if he would want to use that name. He said "not really", but we'll see.

• Secrets - husband. Whether he wants to hear them or not. Before him, it was my brother. I think he learned more about me than he wanted to.

Everyone: What's your favorite type of ride (or rides) at an amusement park? I'm talking the standard, year round in place type, not the traveling ones.
For me, it's roller coasters (both kinds), the bobsled/Himalaya ride, and the ferris wheel. I love that dizzy feeling after a good ride. I may not enjoy how my back and neck feel the next day but, bring them on!

I like it! What is your H's quarrel with the name?

You can always use Eve or Evie when they're little as a short form.

• I haven't tried my e-reader (aka my ipad) in the bath yet, but I probably would.

I like the name Evelyn. I think it is timeless, nice and not overdone at all.

• Oh and whoever asked about running shoes (Cfaz?) just go to a running store and get evaluated. Different shoes have different "strengths" so to speak as far as overpronation, underpronation, support, etc. And that's very important in avoiding injuries like shin splints.

• Evelyn makes me think old lady.

I read my Kindle in the bathtub last week.
Manda, I like the name Evelyn. I think it's pretty and normal without being too common. Does he think it sounds like an old lady name?
Posted by annakb8
YES. Grr. But like everyone else said, I'd want to call her Evie. I love it. Makes me terribly sad that I can't have it. He's naysayed my two favorite names- Evelyn and Connor. Oh, and no I don't read my Kindle in the bathtub. I'd be devastated if I dropped it in.
• What is my favorite thing about DC?

This is a hard question because I don't like living here very much. But I do love being able to walk places. I've always loved taking walks and it's nice to actually have somewhere to walk to instead of just walking around the neighborhood.

Cfas, what is your favorite thing about living up here?

I LOVE the tall roller coasters! I hate heights but when I feel securely harnessed in I'm ok.

• I have run in Asics for years but have recently started to run in my VFFs. I do love my asics though and have done IM and Boston in them with absolutely no issues at all. I would however suggest you think about getting a shoe fitting from a running store.

I like the name Evelyn a lot. It transitions from a child to adult name pretty well I think. It is also musical sounding to me which for some reason I cannot explain is a plus.
• I like the name Evelyn, but I have an aunt Evelyn (by marriage). I'm not a fan, so I can't use the name or she'll think that I like her.

I probably tell more people here, since there are so many of you on here. IRL, I only tell a select few my secrets. Any big secrets I have though, very, very few people know, and I would never tell them on the internet.
• You couldn't pay me enough money to get in the bath with my Kindle and especially not my iPad. I'm waaaaaaay too clumsy for that. I can't really even read real books in the bath because I've ruined them that way.

We find out in 27 days! (Not that I'm counting... lol) I always hate saying a preference because I'll feel guilty if I'm wrong, but I'd LOVE a little girl. My relationship with my mom is so awesome and I think it'd be great to have that someday with my own daughter.

• Ditto Mixtape (although i don't think they have the running room in the US. I think it's a Canadian thing)

I too have sacony shoes and love them. Aasics are also great shoes.

• I do not really have many secrets and have not spilled much of anything here, but I can understand how I might want some opinions from people here rather than IRL.

I have tried to read my kindle in the bathtub but I am a horrible bath person, I get the water everywhere and no matter what my hands are always wet. I usually give a big "hhrumph" and stomp out of the tub. I hate baths.

I just bought some Nike Airs, and they are pretty crappy so far. I probably just have to break them in but they hurt my feet! :(

All knotties- Do you like boiled egg on your salads? I love it but some people have never heard of it or think its sick.

• Oh, and Missy, I like the log flume or any water ride at amusement parks.

• And I read it on the edge of the pool in Mexico too.
• cfas: I used to run in Asics. I got fitted at the store, and Mizunos were better for me. So its a different shoe (and a smaller brand) but similar quality to Asics.
