This is my H. He eats enough for at least 3 people every meal and has yet to gain a lb. His grandfather was the same way.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Confessions or UnPop Ops or something? : Exactly my point. I have yet to know of a B&B in the "bad part of town", that would constitute weaponry of that magnitude. Is there a way to check with the B&B about personal firearms? Some of the have rules about such things on the premises.

We've probably moved on - but it's "The People's Republic of Vermont"; normal rules don't apply to them

  • Well I think I still look like I did when I was 15, so I'm sure aging won't be a problem. :-)

  • There are a few goals H and I want to accomplish before TTC. We're really close the big one, which is having a house. A few other goals, and then we'll just be waiting for a good vibe or something. There isn't really a set 'date' for us.

Good point. I haven't really changed a lick either. I just got really good at makeup. And got better bras.
  • I wish I could be better at makeup. I only wear eye makeup and do the same thing everyday.

This is pretty much me. The only reason people think I'm older is because of the way I carry myself, not the way I physically look. Especially when I'm blonde, I look 16. For some reason when I have brown hair I look older.

  • Meegles, my mom had us at 32, 35 and 38 (almost 39). She didn't have any complications during any of the pregnancies. I know that it's not the same for everyone, but it's definitely possible to have 2 kids after the age of 31. One of the the moms I nanny for had hers at 31 and 33. The other mom, I think it was like, 37 and 39.

[QUOTE]H and I have talked about it and we'd like to be around 28ish before we start trying. That gives us a few more years of wine and cheese dinners.

I'm 28 H is 31. We don't really have a few years to wait, but I'm still in no rush. I just hope I don't wake up at 35 with ZOMG I need a baby right MEOW!

  • I am TERRIBLE at foundation. I always end up with way too much, if and when I do wear it. I'll stick to a bit of eye makeup.

This is a dumb question: if you wear foundation and go out in the rain/ snow, does it all get washed and streaky? Or, if you do it right and are wearing just a tiny bit, does it stay ok?
  • I discovered a few weeks ago that all my co workers thought i was about 5 years older than I acutally am...that doesn't bode well for the future. I pulled my first gray hair out of my head at 19.

  • We have an age limit of 35. If it hasn't happened by then it's definitely not going to. I might bump that up to 30, though.

  • Erin, it could get streaky if your face gets rained on. If you have a hood or an umbrella though, you should be okay. There are some formulas that stay better than others though and a little rain wouldn't hurt. I can't recommend any to you because I barely wear foundation and when I do, it's mineral make up, not liquid.

I'm going on vacation with my college girlfriends in a couple weeks (4 other girls) and they're leaving their 18 kids behind. Yup, 18 kids between the 4 of them. and the oldest is 16. Feeling old, party of me.

  • Angel - I know, I actually had a similar conversation with some friends in their 40s over the weekend. I also have some health considerations that worry me (not fertility-related). I just don't like feeling against a wall. Clocks suck.

    MK - eye to eye.

I look younger than I am. I also am terrible at wearing make-up/prefer sleep in the a.m., so that likely doesn't help. I wish I could have a personal make-up artist every day. And a chef and a maid and a masseuse.

  • When i wear a full face, I have so much primer and urban decay setting spray on, I think a hurricane couldn't budge my makeup.

To the office, I just wear tinted moisturizer or bb cream and it doesn't get streaky with rain.

    Yes to all of this.
  • I have no idea how to use foundation, or really anything other than basic eye make-up. My make-up routine is super simple.
  • Oh I probably don't look 15 still, but IIII still feel like I look 15. People have met me here. They can vouch I don't still look like a young teenager. Although I've had tits since I was 10, so I don't know that I ever looked like a prepubescent teenage.

Me too. My make-up routine (when it happens), is shadow, mascara, and blush. I would like to wear lipstick, but usually put chapstick on first, intending to add lipstick when it dries. And then I forget.

  • I don't think I'd have the patience to have my hair or makeup done every day. I would really love a live-in sushi chef though. I would eat that every day if I could afford it. And then I'd get mercury poisoning and die.

  • I'll jump in with a lurking newbie confession because it seems like the thing to do...or was a few pages back. I've been lurking these boards for a few weeks and mostly everyone seems pretty funny, interesting, etc.

    1) I am one of the least shy people in person, but saying something on here is a bit of a struggle for me. Probably for all the usual reasons.

    2) I really don't understand half of the lingo and acronyms that are constantly thrown around in people's posts. There are far more being used than The Knot offers on its list. Prime example, what is flaming? Apparently, newbies are scared of getting flamed? I don't know how to be worried about something that I can't define.

And I'll close out with a confession more fitting the theme. I've only seen one of the Star Wars movies start to finish - and it was one of the new ones in the theater in France, thus I only comprehended half or so. I've probably seen enough bits and pieces on TBS through the years though that I could sort it out generally. My nerdly energy is too invested elsewhere.
  • I told H if I was going to have a kid I wanted it to be before I was 30. I have one year and 10 months before that happens. I think my timeline is flucked if we don't make a decision. Oh well.

I confess that I'm worried H is changing his mind about having babies. And that's a deal breaker for me (and he knew this before we got engaged).

I would like to think that he would be enough and that I could live without kids if we are happy, but I know that I would resent him.

    Edited.

I don't know if I ever looked like a teenager. I feel like I went from 10 to 21. I didn't really get boobs, and I got slightly taller and that's it. I still think I look 18, or maybe I wish I was 18? Haha. It could be that I don't want to turn 29 in a few months.

    This is funny.

Flaming is basically calling someone out for something. They do/say something you don't like you call them on it.

You get used to the accronyms. It took my about a year to figure out what NFT meant (No Further Text).
