All the gaurdisil shots were a bitch. They felt like they were injecting lead into my arm or something. Guardisil is now being offered to men because they can get certain cancers of the throat from HPV if they are exposed to it.

That's good. Like two months after my last LEEP and other procedure, the vaccine came out. Before that, most people I knew had never even heard of HVP. I don't think it would matter for me to get the vaccine at this point, with my age (isn't the cutoff 25 or so?) and the fact that I've had the strain it protects you against.
C, what BCP were you on? I was on Seasonelle for a while, and it was extremely helpful. Currently I have been taking Microgestin and it is helping. The one time when I took the Plan B pill is when my cycle started going downhill.
I have to leave for a co-op meeting in a few minutes. They have been really tedious and full of hostility lately. I'm dreading having to get off my comfortable chair.

I don't have much to add to all of this medical talk. I did have one abnormal test (Dr. told me possibly pre-cancer), then the colposcopy. That shiz was not a day at the beach, but like PPs said, Ill take that rather than learn something too late.
You also get the manual breast exams at the annual visit. Which I like because I am not as proactive as I should be about doing it myself.
Ok, off to meeting now, I will back around 8 probably.
C- Good to know it might be the same one I am on. I like it so far.
Thank you all so much for letting me discuss this, and giving me some more insight and personal stories. (I really wanted to just vent, but the discussion was better!) This is why I really like it here. Thank you!
I'm on Yaz. I know there's the lawsuit out there, but I've never had adverse side effects, and I think it's possible that the people that had complications shouldn't have been on Yaz in the first place. Like maybe it wasn't the correct BCP for their body's phisiology. I don't know. I'm no doctor.
I"m just catching up, but I wanted to add that my aunt basically died because she was afraid to go to the doctor. Had she told the doctor what was really going on, I fully believe she would still be here today.
Colposcopy was a piece of cake for me. It was the silver nitrate they put on to keep it from bleeding, and the god awful cramping afterward that was awful.
I just got a call from a job I interviewed for a couple months ago that only offered me a relief position, offering me a full time position. Day late and a dollar short, but I'm kinda stoked that they thought of me and still wanted me.
Aw Birdie I'm so sorry. Lucas never goes to the doctor. Not even for an annual physical. He used to get them in the Navy so it was NBD, but he's been out of the Navy for 2 and a half years and hasn't gone once.

Well I'm currently trying to talk H into going for his little passing out deal. But my aunt had a lot of health issues that she just didn't tell the doctor about and I feel like they all contributed to her death.
I couldn't get H to be seen last week when we were pretty sure he had a concussion. So I got to be on concussion duty for a few hours to make sure he didn't go to sleep. Do you know how hard it is to stay awake when you're watching someone almost fall asleep?
Ugh, my H is the same way. He once operated on his own ingrown toenail. I really want him to go get a physical, and he keeps saying he will, but I don't think he will.
And neither do I mica. He's just really frustrated because they've done a couple tests and haven't found anything yet. He tells me he'll go if I want him to, but he doesn't know what else to say besides what he said last time. I don't know what to tell him. He's had an ekg and a CT done. I think we should just bite the bullet and have an echo done to make sure nothing is wrong there.

The sample taking was the worst for me. "Feel like a small pinch" my ass. I didn't have a lot of cramping, but my uterus and cervix sit differently than normal and so I don't get normal cramping.
Birdie, I'd definitely make H go to the doc if he was passing out. That's too serious to not get checked out.

Edited to remove repetitiveness.
I agree that life before it was not fun.
