I think a "Who Would You Ban?" thread would be totally awesome. But we'd have to put restrictions, like no steffi, edie, etc.

I think I would ban a few people on my month board. They pop into my head first.

A lot of people were also saying they missed the wine girls and maybe this is an UO but the conversation topics weren't much different at all then either. Still tv shows, drinking, etc. just a few different people.

Evening everyone!!!!!

I had the best day today!!! H and I went to the zoo, then came home and showered and went out to eat at a local Asian fine dining place.

I threw together a blog post with some of my pictures from the zoo...check it out!

I have never posted in a night thread because usually there is so much else to do, like sit on the couch and watch TV. But I just sat out on my porch and read a book and drank wine while the sun went down and I don't feel like settling in to the Olympics just yet.

To catch everyone up, I was laid off from my last FT job in 2009. I went back to grad school, finished, and moved back here in 2010. Started working with a temp agency in my current PT job in 2011. I've had a few interviews, but nothing really promising.

Until last week. I had an interview last Friday and for the first time in a really long time felt really inspired. I got an informal offer on Tuesday, but was told that HR in that particular unit was still working on a number. So I talked to the HR rep in my unit to get an estimate of what the offer could be. Without looking at the specific job, she gave me a number that I could live with. Things would be tight, but I could live with it.

Yesterday morning I got a call with the number. It was WAY BELOW the number my rep gave me. I asked if there was any room for negotiation and was told I'd have to talk to the HR rep over there. So I met with my rep and she was SHOCKED at the offer, especially after I showed her the description.

If my math is correct, I'd be getting maybe an extra $40/week for 10 extra hours of work.
