Good Evening

Re: Good Evening

  • Good evening!  I'm being a lazy bum while H cooks dinner.  I think we're supposed to go out later for our friend's birthday, so I guess I'll have to get my butt off the couch sometime.

  • I love cheesecake so much.  It was my one big requirement for the wedding.  Cheesecake is about a million times better than regular cake.

  • Good Evening,

H is taking a nap and I'm getting ready to start dinner.  Work was good, I got out at noon and they are doing the paperwork to hire me officially. I was a contractor but my 90 days is coming up next week. I'm looking forward to finally accruing PTO and getting paid holidays!

Tomorrow I'm getting fitted for running shoes and then we're going to NOLA to check out the Zydeco Festival.

Mica, sorry to hear you're still sick. I also didn't know you're specialty before either and agree--it's really cool.

J&K, that's exciting about your housewarming party.

<div>So true. Mmm, especially with strawberry glaze on top. Yup, I'm officially glad I'll be living within 30 minutes of a Cheesecake Factory. </div>
  • Hi and bye, Angel!  I hope things go well and you have fun this weekend.  Have a safe drive.

  • I love cheesecake too. :)

Mari, H and I are never on the same schedules. You'll figure out a flow so you two can have a clean house! Right now H is here in the mornings and he finishes dishes (if I didn't finish the night before) and makes the bed. He also cleans the living room a little and does all the yard work.

I do most of the cooking, and then I deep clean the bathroom, dust, and vacuum. I used to do all the laundry, but H has been doing his uniforms and it helped a ton.
  • My parents still have a couple pieces of ours in their freezer.  I should tell them to bring it camping next weekend so we can eat it.

  • I was with FMIL at the Cheesecake Factory and she actually asked me why all their desserts were different cheesecakes...

Mica I hope your throat/voice gets better, are you sick or was it from lecture/talking a lot?

I keep cracking up at the thought of bedazzled garden tools.. y'all are frightening!

Ugh, now I want cheesecake.  But my FI got me a chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake and a dozen cake balls today.  I have to share the cake balls, but I am so looking forward to eating my cupcake when I get home.

Mica, I think your speciality is awesome.

  • Brittney -- I had laryngitis from a upper respiratory virus.  Having to talk for my job prolonged the course.

Kcs -- don't worry, I won't try to convert you.  We need good pediatricians too.  :)
  • She is known for FMILisms... it gives some good laughs sometimes. Other times it really drives me nuts that she doesn't think before she says anything, ever.

[QUOTE]Most older people don't see a specialist.  I just see especially sick older people.  I love what I do, but most medical students are young and don't see the appeal of treating the elderly, so it's hard to make them interested in what I do.  Luckily I'm sort of ridiculously energetic in real life, and with my raspy voice, everyone felt sympathetic towards me and stayed awake for the lecture.

</div><div>I understand what you mean about the students...I'm a nursing student and I'm interested in trauma  but one of my professors is encouraging me toward geriatrics. My concern would be that I got too involved...especially in the case of Alzheimers. Alzheimers breaks my heart.  I think that I'd be better at trauma, but I'm not ruling geriatrics out. I figure maybe my professor sees something in me that I don't as of yet, and I could change my mind when I start clinicals.

  • H was awesome and did not yell at me for spending $23 on cheesecake (2 flavors) for me, and a piece of chocolate cake for him.  And we went to the BW3's for wings that was a couple of miles further from our apartment because it was by The Cheesecake Factory (I REALLY wanted cheesecake) and then there was an accident on the highway so we got off the highway (with everyone else) and got stopped at ALL THE LIGHTS... maybe twice each it seemed like.  And he did not yell or roll his eyes at me.  I love him :).

Yikes, Mica. Hope you're able to get over it soon. :(

  • I had laryngitis once.  It was the worst 3 days of my life, and the best 3 days of everyone else's.  It was Christmas too.

  • Loopy you're making me ridiculously hungry and I'm still stuck at work another 20 mins! I talked FI into a dinner "date" at Subway tonight, anything to get me out of cooking on a Fri night and I'm a happy girl!

  • Hope you get to feeling better Mica!

  • Aryn, I think I missed your post about the new job and move...so a belated Congrats! It'll be great to get a fresh start and be near your friends. Very excited for you!

Moving is crazy expensive. I'm just glad we'll only be moving a few miles this summer and not across the country. I'm kinda fed up with all the scams on craigslist though so I think H and I are just going to drive around on Sunday looking for "For Rent" signs.

  • Our new apartment is 6 minutes from Cheesecake Factory.  Our old apartment was 2 hours.  Apparently FI dreamed he had to get a second job just to support my cheesecake habit.
