Maybe they see the appropriation of their brave warriors as a simple mascot as further damaging to their already sensitive history of having their lifestyle ripped away from them?
(speaking generally, as it's already been said that in the specific case mentioned, there wasn't this feeling)

I know, but my point is that it's ridiculous to find that one image of a person is more offensive than an image of a different culture with the same team name.

I'm not really getting into the rest of the argument. I just find that stance to be hypocritical.

See, I assumed your "in general" flame was directed at me. In the original thread, I was being general. I didn't know specifics about the Sioux and their feelings on the subject. I have no doubt in my mind that living anywhere (be it here, or abroad) is without its downsides. Toledo, Ohio--by no means---is puppies and rainbows; if you've ever been here, I'm sure you'd know what I'm talking about. I highly doubt living in Italy is all sunshine and fun--either. An individual that assumed another individual's life was picture perfect based soley on their geographical location would be wrong, IMO.

I don't think the point anyone was make is that Amoro or Lynda or anyone else needs to STFU because they live in "paradise," and therefore their life is without worry. It's just the constant "woe is me" because of said location.
