Yall, there's a good chance FI broke his ankle playing softball with his friends. Am I an awful human being for being angry with him? I'm mad because it's going to be my CC that we max out to go to the doctor since he has no insurance.
Posted by ArynBaker
I don't blame you for being angry, but I wouldn't be maxing out my CC either.  Shouldn't the hospital have type of assistance program for people without insurance?  Again, this goes back to he needs to take responsibility for his actions.
• Aryn I would be pissed.  I was pissed at my myself when I broke my wrist and needed surgery a week before my insurance had run out from the school district.  It took some favors being called in (so thankful for a medical family) to get me in for surgery the last day of my coverage.

• Aryn - no.. you're not dumb for being mad.
• Btw, Aryn, have you heard anything back about that job in Raleigh yet?

• Twin babies for 10 hours straight? You must be a saint, Angel!
imageAnniversary
• Yeah - and why are you putting it on your CC?

Exactly what I was thinking. What would he do if you weren't there to bail him out? Let him do whatever that is.

Believe me, it was really tough. They're pretty fussy babies sometimes... I almost lost my mind every Friday. It paid pretty well though, they almost always paid me for an extra hour.

• How are things going Aryn?
• Yea, they told me today I didn't get the job. FI has no money and already has a couple thousand in hospital bills from other injuries. Ideally I'd like for him to call his parents in the morning and see if they can help.

Haha Angel is a saint. That's a lot of holy in that sentence.
• An ER doctor in NYC told my brother before when he didn't have insurance that if he ever had to go in that he should just give a fake name and fake SSN.  Apparently by the time they do any checks on it you would already have the treatment and be checked out.  I couldn't believe a doctor told him to do that.

At the same time, I totally believe it to be possible though.  When I broke my wrist I didn't have any ID on me because we were snowboarding, and definitely didn't have my insurance card.  They took my word for everything and had me call back when I got home with my insurance info.

<div>I've had an uber bad day to be honest. I'm really glad I have my private counseling session tomorrow so I can vent for a full hour. </div>
• Beachy, that's an awesome doctor. At the same time, I'm kinda surprised he hasn't gotten in trouble for giving out that advice.
• I'm sure things like today aren't helping any Aryn.  Seriously, I get that not everyone has access to insurance, but if he already had hospital bills from another uninsured injury maybe he should be playing sports.

• I'm sorry you didn't get the job Aryn.  Have you guys started counselling yet?  Has he shown any improvement in his motivation since you talk?
• Bummer about the job, Aryn, but it just means there's something better out there for you (or so I remind myself constantly).
• Sorry to hear about the job and your bad day, Aryn. Are full time nanny gigs hard to come by where you are? There are plenty of them around here, although there are way more nannies than there are jobs. I'm surprised I've been offered as many of the jobs I've intereviewed for as I have, since it's so competitive. I don't think I interview THAT well.

<div>I'm assuming this is what Beachy meant... and I pretty much agree with her.</div>
• Ditto Loopy & Beachy.
• I've had a few other phone interviews. I guess it's more competetive than I thought too. There are a lot of nanny positions in Raleigh though so hopefully I'll have something by July.

And we had a first couples counseling the other day and the guy was awful. No other real improvements.
• Alright ladies, I'm signing off for the night.  Have a good one.
• Oops, yeah thats definitely what I meant.  Damn vodka getting in the way of my typing!

• Good night Stlrz.

Aryn - are you going to try to find someone else?  I assume the awful guy was the therapist, not your FI?  Sorry there's been no other improvement though ;(.
• Good night, strlz.
imageAnniversary
• Aryn do you use care.com and/or sittercity.com?  A friend told me about those sites when I considered doing nannying just to get a job and there were tons of listings on care.com.  I never looked at the other.

• Goodnight strlz

• Evening ladies.

Sorry about your bad day, Aryn. I really hope things start to look up for you.

H got called in tonight which pisses me off. We live together and see each other maybe twice a week. Today was going to be a day that both of us had the whole evening off together, but I'm crafting instead.

I was looking to buy a little sign to hold the dogs' leashes to go by the door, but they were like $25-75 on Etsy. I decided I could make one myself for much cheaper. I ended up spending $40 and I'm not even sure how it's going to turn out. You'd think that making things yourself would be the cheapest route, but I'm quickly finding out that's not exactly true.

• I use both of those sites and I really like them, but it depends on the area, some places have more jobs than others. Aryn, I'm sure you'll find something. You have experience and references.

• That sucks, Aryn. It's a good sign that he's going at least. Hopefully you can find a better therapist though.

I'll also be sending positive job vibes to both of you sweet nannies.
