I used to watch RHOC, but I haven't watched the other ones. H would mock me to no end if I watched those shows. He thinks Top Chef is bad enough. But I sort of love the trashiness of reality TV. I used to love the Hills when LC was still on.

My dog has become obsessed with asian pears. My mother brought me a huge one, and Berkeley is begging for pieces of it. She usually hates fresh fruits or vegetables. It's really funny.

Andy I love that your H still has a pager. My mom has one too from the hospital and I tell her I'm embarrassed to be seen with her carrying it!

I have a pager, but people rarely page me. My nurses and page operators know to call my work cell.

I used to call H on my way home from work - mostly to see if he had any idea what time he'd be home for dinner and stuff - and if he had a minute to chat we'd talk about whatever. Now, I usually try to call him on my way into work since he's asleep when I get home and I"m asleep when he leaves so I don't get to talk to him otherwise. Sometimes he chats, and sometimes he answers with "can't talk now really busy bye". He usually tries to call me at work at some point in the evening.

The 2nd shift is a permanent thing - at least for probably a year or two. The working overnight on friday's and Saturdays - I should start alternating weekends with someone else in February.

One of my perks of my otherwise crappy job is no overnight calls. Or weekends or major holidays. So I only wear my pager during the day. Ah, it's good to be an attending.

I had a really bizarrely good schedule as a resident. I wasn't on call for a single Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years or 4th of July. I had the single best schedule of anyone I knew. I was the white cloud of the group.
