He popped the Big ? on 8/1/10. I am super excited. We picked it out together 1 carat radiant solitaire. on a Cathedral Setting. We have been together for 6 years. I am again so excited.
1 carat princess cut, I LOVE it!!! He proposed christmas morning of 2008, after 2 years together! It was a total shock, I had no idea. He went ring shopping with his mom, and he couldn't have picked a better ring, I absolutely love it! He bought it the end of October and originally planned on proposing around Thanksgiving, (his grandparents 65th anniversary - the most influential people in his life) but he knew christmas was my favorite day of the year Funny thing is, I was joking around, about the time of christmas, and picked out a ring JUST like this online & was like, "hey.. look.. what a gorgeous ring! *hint*" but I couldn't even do it with a straight face, haha. But I thought his response was kind of odd.. he just cracked up and said I should show his mom, she'd get a kick out of it.. little did I know they had already gotten one just like it!
FI proposed June 26th. He built the ring on bluenile.com and it's 10 princess cut, pavé set diamonds surrounding two princess cut side diamonds and of course, the main center diamond, which is 1 carat. I love love love my ring but right now, it's currently with Blue Nile again, being re-sized. That's the downside to Blue Nile, you have to send in your ring to be re-sized and it takes about 3 weeks door to door.

My engagment ring is a bit different because I designed it. It's kind of cool to know your ring is copyrighted! My finance knew that I wasn't going to go with anything that I could find walking into a store. He also knew how much I love birds and that I would want that incorporated into the design. So after 41/2 years of dating he asked if I wanted to go look at rings. We looked all around and finally found a place in Dallas, TX that will design the exact ring you want. I drew the entire ring that I wanted.. from the square setting, to the round diamond, to the criss cross gallery, to the pave side bands. It has birds that are in flight on the side bands with ivy leaves trailing down behind the birds. I knew I wanted my ring to be two-toned and that I wanted it to be vintage. I knew I didn't want to bands because I don't wear a lot of rings so I knew that would drive me crazy. And last I didn't want a tall crown setting. It was a very exciting process where I watched them recreate my sketch in CAD. I got to try on a plastic mold of the rin
before the final design was created. I did not see it until the day he proposed. He drew it out past our anniversary, christmas parties, special events, and new years. He had me so fooled I thought he had changed his mind! And 6 long months later he poped the question with a ring that was truly me. Knocked me off my feet!
Here is my ring!!! I love it! We picked it out together July 24, 2010. It's certified 1 ct. tw. w/ three round main Diamonds and six princess cut side Diamonds set in 14K white gold. I took a quick picture of it in the store because I couldn't take it home with us... had to be re-sized. But we picked it up the 27th... they work fast... and now I can't stop staring at it. I love everything it represents... past, present, future... we've been together 5 and a half years.

This is my "place holder" ring. My now fiance (ahh!!!) and I had dated 4 years and he'd pretty much told me the engagement would happen some day, some how, some where on our trip. Well, bless his heart the diamond ring he ordered me didn'y even SHIP yet, so he proposed with this gorgeous antique sapphire and diamond ring....it was never about the ring, I'm thrilled and hey....two proposals might be fun

My fiance' proposed to me at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Vegas! He took me by total surprise. I was so happy! We had this beautiful dinner covered in red roses at the Eiffel Tower restaurant after he proposed. It was amazing. He bought the diamond from whiteflash out of Houston and bought the platinum setting from Vacht. Whiteflash took professional pictures of my ring before they gave it to him which was nice! It's 1.25 ct...my fiance' was really into the 4C's and making sure it was a really good quality diamond. He did an amazing job! He picked it out all by himself
I LOVE my ring!!!! My FI picked it out on his own and it is one of a kind with engravings on each side of the stone and his nick name for me engraved on the inside. He Picked the stone, the setting and all engravings!
I love the vintage look, and this is exactly what I wanted! I had sent him a few photos of rings I liked - he brought all of those in and custom designed it with me in mind Its perfect!
i'm hoping i did this right! i'm still new to all this!
Just got engaged on July 10,2010 on our vacation to Gatlinburg,TN. We have been dating for 7 months and had to talked about getting married but i never thought he was being serious! He picked it out himself at a local jeweler with my future father-in-law I absolutely my fiance and my ring!!
(i couldn't figure out how to upload a picture so you'll have to click on the link)
He picked this all on his own, in fact when he asked me to marry him, I origionally thought he was kidding around. Then the ring came out and I just started tearing up and nodding my head. I love the ring, its simple and laidback just like me and he picked the perfect one in my opinion.
The photo of it on Kay Jewelers site, I'm so terrible I had to know if he went to Kays, because my family has always gone to Kays, not only did he go to Kays, he found the russian jeweler there I use and she walked him through my jewelry taste and they picked the ring. LOL He is too perfect for his own good.
There are diamonds encrusting the the sides of the ring, and they are just amazing. He really did an awesome job finding the ring, and because he knows I'm clumsy he made sure to get the lifetime warranty on the ring and the diamonds, so if I lose a stone its replaced free and they certify the diamonds and insure it in case of theft. I swear that man is heaven sent.
2 Ct. Sapphire as the Center Stone followed by .75 cts. of diamonds surrounding it and the side of the band! Totally different and exactly what I wanted (even though my fiance' didn't know anything except that I wanted to have a sapphire as the center stone)! HE did an amazing job!
This is the best picture I could get of my ring, but me and my FI went and chose it together, we wanted a ring that we can both love and that would be more "us" So this ring represents both our personalities. I love having it be something more then just a pretty diamond ring but a simple of us and who we are together.
I managed to talk my boyfriend into buying a sapphire, because I really don't like the diamond engagement ring traditions (created by DeBeers ~100 years ago to inflate the price of diamonds). Plus, I love my birthstone. Well, he wouldn't budge on buying white gold even though I wouldn't have minded sterling silver, so I showed him the Etsy store where he chose my ring. He found it on his own, too. I love the vintage look of the band. And the sapphire is huge and soooo pretty.
My fiance had me fooled for weeks... i thought we were going to look at rings together when i came to visit him in las vegas from new york ( we are living apart for the time being ). I got off the plane and he took me right to Freemont Street (the old strip). Then had already made a plan with a street interviewer to interview us and then he asked me right there on camera right on the street with thousands of people watching. My future mother-in-law taped the whole thing... but i will never forget that night
it is a total of 1.6 ct deco diamond (4-.45ct) with a total of .8 ct of princess cuts on the sides
I got engaged last month. I sent my fiance a ring I designed online; he took it to a local jeweler and had it custom made! I can't stop staring at it!!
White gold, colorless .76 ct brilliant cut center stone, 7 diamonds on either side.
We've been together for nearly 4 years, and had talked of getting married for a long time. Earlier this summer, we decided we were ready to get engaged and began visiting jewelry stores in hopes of learning which styles of rings we would both like. We were in search of a ring that was simple and delicate and knew the moment I tried this one that it was perfect.
After secretly carrying the ring around for over 3 weeks, Jason proposed during the Perseid meteor shower, while we watched from the hammock in his backyard.
I love that he proposed during the Perseid meteor shower, andijeanne! During last year's meteor shower, my FI and I talked about getting my ring and picked it out the next day. beautiful ring - CONGRATS!
Here's my ring, with the ring I got my fiance after we got engaged!
I ordered his ring from etsy. It says "Amor Vincit Omnia" on the outside (latin for Love Conquers All) and "I Love You" on the inside with the date he proposed and a heart.

Really simple one stone and he picked it out himself. I don't wear rings so I've always told him don't surprise me, let me pick it. Does he listen NOoooo. I'm so glad he didn't because I was beyond shocked and so surprised.
My FI surprised me with his proposal. He brought me outside where he had a tiny puppy with a bow and my ring around his neck! It is a Tacori 1 carat round cut with a channel of diamonds on the shoulder and the signature crest desing.
Engaged as of 7-16-2010. FI and I went to look at rings together and tried on several. However, I knew what I wanted it was just a matter of getting him to see that too. He proposed they day he got it (after a fight about how he didn't even surprise me) we were headed out for the night and he just got down on one knee and gave me this amazing speech. He's so goofy.
It's hard to see but I have a 1ct center stone and both sides of the ring are enhanced the exact same with with half a carat of mini diamonds. Its a cathedral setting and I ADORE it.
This is my ring. The diamond is a heart shape. My fiance and I have been together since high school and we are both in college and living on our own so neither of us are exactly rolling in money, but this ring means so much to me. It's not the biggest but it's one that he chose out himself and wanted me to have. Simple and lovely, exactly what I wanted.
My ring is a 1 ct 3 stone diamond ring from Kay's. (He modified it a bit to lower the setting so it wasn't so high up.) We had gone ring shopping and I had hinted at this style and lo and behold, it's the one he bought! Engaged as of 8.9.10 and I couldn't be happier! I hardly noticed the ring when he proposed, I was more focused on how he had actually hid this all from me!
He also purchased the wedding band as a bridal set. They match perfectly!
