Growing up, our hospitals used to X-Ray candy to make sure there weren't needles, shards of glass, etc. in the candy.  Apparently this wasn't done everywhere...
• Thanks for using 'fecal matter' and 'cookie' in the same sentence.

• I would probably not eat the cookies.  But I would spend all day being tempted by said cookies so I would end up going home and baking my own damn cookies.  So really secret cookies = more work for me.

Our hospitals did that too Money - but we never took them there.  I'd just eat the apple, no questions asked.  lol.
In Response to Re: I Judge : I wouldn't eat the cookies, and I never ate anything that came from my student's houses unless I knew the parents and knew what kind of family they were.  However, I'm judging you for her referring to her ridiculousness at what her parents taught her, when you've already tried to pull that excuse yourself today.
Posted by dnbeach12
I wasn't judging her reasoning, I was judging the fact that she was eating them.

I had a friend ask me if she should make cookies for her son's bus driver. I told her "No cause she probably won't eat them." I think many teachers feel this way about taking homemade food from students. You just never know.

• Just imagine that they are hairy fecal matter cookies.

• We were not permitted to eat apples (or anything not in a manufacturer's wrapper) given out at Halloween, for fear of poison and razor blades.

But even if you know who baked the cookies, you still don't know if they washed their hands before baking. The cookies could still contain hair/poop.

That's it.  I'm going to die laughing. lol
• Well I was going to say that I'd eat the cookies but now I'm having second thoughts. Probably important to know where they came from but I'd probably buckle under the pressure of them being there and just eat one. Unless they're chocolate. *gross*
• I judge FedEx for taking so long to deliver my stupid package.  I had it sent to work instead of home because I don't get home until 4 PM today (appointment) and I figured I'd get it at work.  Now I only have fifteen minutes left, and it's still not here.  According to the tracker it's been out for delivery for seven hours.  Dammit.  Serves me right for thinking this way would be quicker.

We used to live in a 22 story high rise and could trick or treat at ALL of the apartments. That was in the 80's and before people started putting pins and razor blades in the fruit and candy.

How bad could a little fecal matter REALLY be?  And honestly?  Tell me somebody who doesn't typically wash their hands wouldn't wash in the event that they had said fecal matter on their hands.

• But I just said you can't always SEE fecal matter Andy.  Maybe the baker had to go to the bathroom.  But then the phone rang!  So she got up really fast and didn't stop to wash her hands. She has a long conversation with her friend about her new boyfriend who she thinks is cheating, but she can't tell because he also works long hours and by the time she gets off the phone she's forgotten she didn't wash her hands and she starts making cookies and kneads it all together with her hands?  EW.
