But as long as you (general you) are confident in your beliefs why would you let someone who has an opposing stance get under your skin.  The fact that a pro-lifer sees abortion as murder should not be shocking to anyone on.  So why get offended?
I've never had an abortion. So I don't know what it feels like to be called a murder after making a difficult decision (cause frankly it is, pro-life, pro-choice, it's a hard decision to make), but I'm guessing, shitty.

Because while I'm not shocked when the bible thumpers show up and tell me I'm gonna burn in hell and God hates me, it fucking sucks and makes me feel shitty. And angry. I know it's not true. My version of God loves me. If she didn't want me to be a big ol' lezzy, she would have made me happy hetero. But she wanted me gay. So cool. And I'm ok with who I am. I got all the gay pride floating through me. Still makes me feel like shit when someone tells me I'm going to hell, God hates me, Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve, it's all shitty and it all feels shitty.
I believe with all my heart that God loves you incredibly and amazingly.  Nothing can ever change that.

I don't care what anyone believes as long as they aren't foist ing it on me. I believe mountain dew is a part of a balanced diet, but I'm not buying other people mountain dew and making them drink it.
If you put some vodka in it, I'm down.

If I could just fuck my wife like bunnies and get her knocked up, I totally would. She'd still want to chart. She likes that shit, she's Type A, I'm type like Q or something.

    And as for abortion:
    image
I'd be just as thrilled if a baby saved from abortion was gay or straight.  What matters is that the child lives.

And I am very open about the fact that if I met a woman considering an abortion, I would be willing to adopt that child.
Wow...what a hero. Except, pregnancy is no walk in the park. She might not want to be pregnant. She might not want to go through giving a child up for adoption. She, as the pregnant person who is not you, gets that right.

Legally, sure, she has that right, which is why Guac wouldn't be forcing her, just giving her the option. And if she doesn't believe her baby is a living human person, I can see where the choice not to take her up on that would be way easier.

But if you do believe that you've got a child in there, I feel like it'd be very, very sad if pregnancy were not the least you were willing to go through in order to keep your kid alive.

I was reading this thing today that Walker Percy wrote back in 1981 - pretty interesting, I thought. http://www.nytimes.com/books/97/06/08/reviews/percy-abortion.html I'll just leave it here, as getting more involved in this discussion seems unwise.

Apparently there is a Three Olives vodka that is flavored like Mountain Dew.  So two birds, one stone.

But Guac doesn't need to give her the option. The law already gives her the right to find someone to adopt the kid.

There is no shortage of people wanting to adopt fresh from the vagina babies. Long lists of them. People travel to other countries to get them. It's kids in the foster care system who are getting fucked over. Not the brand new (I'm assuming) healthy babies.

Haven't read the thing. Will read the thing in a minute.

Don't say you're going to have an abortion and expect me to be OK with it either.

Respecting beliefs also means that statements like this shouldn't be said either:

My plan to not have another includes having an abortion straight away, if my IUD were to somehow catastrophically fail. 100% effective.

And apparently I'm already a murderer. THROW MY ASS IN JAIL!

Except here's the thing. We don't care if you are okay with our abortions or not. It's not your place to say anything about it because it does not concern you. At all.

Hey, I thought the topic changed to alcohol.  Or was I mistaken? ;)

Actually, H and I have already started looking into adopting a child currently in foster care. My parents adopted my brother, whose bio mom had been seriously considering abortion. We are big fans of adoption at any stage of life.

Yep. I'm working on getting H to agree to adopt some of them at some point in the future.

And sometimes it is really helpful for someone to hear that someone they actually know and trust cares enough about them and they have the option right there, without them having to worry about interviewing people and shit. I think overall it's more meaningful when the person offering already has kids, just because the mom knows it's probably not because the parents are trying to use her to fill a void in their lives, but because they genuinely care about this mom and this kid right now.

  • If everyone could just stay out of my uterus, that'd be great.

BUT it's so cozy in here. Now pass the vodka!

I am sure after a handful of strong drinks anything mixed with vodka would taste great :)

  • My most favorite drink from when I was younger at a local bar is called a Tsunami. It is Mt. Dew, Dragonberry rum, and blue raspberry pucker and it is sooooo good. Went down really smooth but could be dangerous because they sneak up on you.

I never drink girly drinks so that sounds equal parts gross and great, I can't decide.
