Hi everyone! I've been a member on the knot for little bit now, but havent really posted here an hoping to gain some inspiration to get back on the health wagon...
Wedding date: November 3rd 2012
Weight loss/fitness goals: 9 LB & TONE my middle
Favorite cake flavor: Chocolate!
If you lurk, how long have you: Been on the knot for some time, but not lurked here
Anything interesting about yourself: I have a psych degree but wound up in hospitality as an event mgr.. go figure I also can't seem to ever give short answers but anwer everything with a LOONG explanation, so I apologize now for my long posts!
Anna - i'm sure that's probably part of my problem... i know on days when I exercise I don't always eat to supplement those calories i lose... time to give it a shot, i suppose! Thanks
Weight loss/fitness goals: Lose 5lbs and get more fit (I know, not that intense, haha)
Favorite cake flavor: Chocolate
If you lurk, how long have you: Just since a couple days ago
Anything interesting about yourself: I'm a vegetarian, 6 years going!
Any question you might have: Hmm, I don''t really have any. I just need to know how to be motivated to workout more when I have so many other things going on. I can never seem to make it happen.
Wedding date: April 4, 2014 Weight loss/fitness goals: lose 75lbs...become toned and fit again, as well as be healthier Favorite cake flavor: i love all kinds of cake If you lurk, how long have you: I frequent the other message boards alot Anything interesting about yourself: we are having a wrestling themed wedding LOL Any question you might have: none that I can think of right now
Weight loss/fitness goals:I want to be 130lbs. I have went from 175 to 155. I have 25lbs to go.
Favorite cake flavor: Red Velvet
If you lurk, how long have you: Bout a month or so
Anything interesting about yourself: I love off roading, reading , and spending time with my family.
Any question you might have: Is there a Key to all the abbreviations used on here. Some I get but there are others that I am like huh not sure if i know what that means.
Lleeq: Check your local wedding board instead of an international fitness and weight loss board. They'll be able to better help you. I'm in South Dakota. So no help here.
Wedding date: September 8, 2012. 29 days and counting.
Weight loss/fitness goals:
I want to get my body fat % between 19 and 12, from the 25.2% it was measured at on June 30, 2012. Probably won't be measured again until after the honeymoon, but I don't see my wedding date as the end of my fitness journey, but rather a significant point on an ongoing path.
Favorite cake flavor:
Depends on the quality of cake. I like a high-end almond cake, or a Safeway chocolate cake with that nasty, gooey, guilt and cavity inducing icing.
If you lurk, how long have you: Off and on for ages. I'm just at the point where my brain is mostly going "fitness, wedding wedding wedding, fitness, wedding, wedding." and at this point no one wants to hear about either from me.
Anything interesting about yourself:
I'm an oceanny girl, surfing, diving, you name it.
Any question you might have: How many people in this section have had fitness success?
Eyes2: Quite a few. i haven't reached my goal yet but at about 60lbs lost I'd say I'm doing pretty well. A lot of people move on after hitting their goals or after their wedding so many of us are a work in progress but with hard work, we'll all get there.
Blodwyn: maybe rewording your goals will help? Something more tangible? Instead of just 20lbs as a goal, maybe add goals like "fit into smaller jeans" "complete a 5k race" or some other thing that doesn't rely solely on the numbers that show up on the scale.
If you lurk, how long have you: on and off for a few months
Anything interesting about yourself: Still a student... Bsc forensic sci background and working on podiatric medicine degree... 1 year to go!
Any question you might have: Advice on how to stay motivated and on track for more than a few days at a time! Any advice is welcomed! Talk to everyone soon!
If you lurk, how long have you: Haven't done much lurking
Anything interesting about yourself: I have a passion for life.
Any question you might have: I'm looking for good, quick excercises I can do around the house or during our routine that will help me loose my belly fat.
Cgelske: There aren't really any specific exercises that will help you lose belly fat. You cannot spot reduce. Weight loss is mostly diet. Hop on one of the free sites like SparkPeople or MyFitnessPal and start tracking your food intake.
Try that recipe if you like peanut butter and I guarantee you'll like it. then check out the original website and try different recipes (some more spinachy than others)
Hi Everyone, I'm a vegan bride and new to the knot! Seems like a supportive group and my non-engaged friends are getting a bit annoyed by my constant wedding ramblings!
Wedding date: September 22, 2013
Weight loss/fitness goals: 4 Inches 6 months. 25 pounds- 30 pounds overall over 10 months. I WILL do it. Follow my blog http://fatveganbride.blogspot.com
Favorite cake flavor: I am a cake fiend. I have to say I like lemon cake the best with vanilla buttercream frosting.
If you lurk, how long have you: About 4 months!
Anything interesting about yourself: I am a heavily tattooed bride, my wedding is completely vegan and is going to be vintage traditional and in a barn
Weight loss/fitness goals: Tone up. Get rid of the bat wings!
Favorite cake flavor: None. I don't like cake! Salt is my vice. If I could have a five layer tray of buffalo wild wings and cheese wedges instead of a wedding cake I totally would.
If you lurk, how long have you: I've lurked on and off for years. We talked about getting married in June of 2002 but decided to use the money to buy a home instead. Now we've decided to set a date again.
Anything interesting about yourself: We both work from home. He works in IT and I'm a travel agent.
Any question you might have: Does anyone else do the Insanity workout??? We're starting on Monday.

^I did this workout (well, month one) two autumns ago. It's terriffic! You will quickly learn why it's called Insanity, but you will see results. I didn't complete because I got a bad flu that laid me up for a couple of weeks, and it's not something that you can just pick up where you left off. I am thinking about doing it again this fall/winter though.
I guess I could introduce myself here too, since I'm kind of new...
Wedding date: August 10, 2013
Goal: Lose the last 15lbs. I've lost 40 over the last few years, going very slowly, making it a lifestyle so it will stick, but am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now and want to make it happen!
Favourite cake flavour: Don't really have one. Cake isn't something that I eat a lot of, but I like 'em all. I DO like a nice buttercream icing though!
Lurking: Not a lot. I joined, and jumped in right away. Seemed like the thing to do.
Anything interesting about me: This is my second wedding, FIs first. I have two kids: ds is 12 and dd is 8. Ds doesn't live with us, he chose to stay with his dad when I moved for work, and it breaks my heart that he isn't with me too. But I gave him the choice and have to respect that.
I've also just sent my first novel to a publisher for consideration - eek!
We are planning a wedding at a cottage on the lake. Outdoors, civil ceremony, big party with dinner, dancing and a bonfire. Can't wait!
Question I might have: Has anyone learned to swim as an adult? I never learned (my mom was terrified of water), and would like to try.
Disney: Insanity is insane. I'm also toying around with picking it up again this fall after I get in the swing of my new school schedule.
Jenny: I've heard that adults can have an easier time of learning to swim because we can be rational and acually trust that the instructor won't let you drown. Unlike kids that can sometimes let fear control them. You should do it!
